Sorry to hear this Eddie, get plenty of rest and focus on your health first and foremost.
A suggestion for those who haven't had a PSA blood test, ask for one and monitor your PSA reading annually...
Bought a nice 1984 34mm Tudor Prince Oyster Date for the wife but the Twinlock crown has zero threads to lock-down.
While looking for a replacement crown and tube there seems to be multiple Rolex...
A Royal Navy non-luminous Lemania chronograph is one of the most desirable British military watches. Designed exclusively for use on nuclear submarines that required a watch that would not set-off...
I used 20.0 x 2.0 x 1.20 mm shoulder-less bars instead of the Precista bars, they tighten up the end-link nicely, but require a little fiddling with to fit. Same generic bars as used on the...
Bonklip (Joseph Bonnie) when it's too hot for a Nato.

Try Citizen Service UK, they serviced my RN Dive Supervisors watch a few years ago and all went well.

The minute hand is slightly distorted and under closer examination reads 34. The watch could have been a couple of minutes slow or the hand or wheel may have moved backwards a tad with the explosion...
I thought long and hard about the ethics of restoring the watch but in the end decided it would be a fitting way of honouring and remembering those who died, were injured and served on Glamorgan at...
“At 0636 GMT on 12 June 1982, the faintest of ‘blips’ appeared on the Glamorgan’s bridge radar display. A little over 30 seconds later, an Exocet missile clipped the side of the upper deck, exploded...
Look at the 2002 models, available in no-date or date versions, powered by ETA 2824-2. The no-date dial is quite classy IMO, the tritium markers age nicely.

Try putting the crystal in the freezer overnight and heating the case (and gasket) with a hairdryer before attempting to fit the crystal. Put a smear of silicon grease around the crystal and inside...
I've no plans to update the 82 Precista article. It's well known and documented elsewhere that Eddie's PRS-82 relates to the original 82. You raise an interesting thought though, what will interest...
It's a MK 1 on a cream coloured dial by the looks of it.

Thanks for the inputs, it will give him some points to think about.

A 'non-watch' mate is looking at a second hand CW C8 pilot at the moment, it has the ETA 2824-2 movement.
At 44mm it is a bit on the large size but he's a big guy so the size wouldn't be too out of...
180/1 is a common parts reference number used across many Swiss calbre's to describe the same part but the part is not necessarily interchangeable between different calibre's unless it's stated on...
The original movement is a ETA 2783, not a 2873.

I've 27 listed, the lowest 1223/82, the highest 1464/82. They occasionally come up for sale, some without bezels. The CWC auto with the circled logo dates from around that time are marked with the...
I finally got around to finishing this article off after it having been on the to-do-list for a few months.

Any comments...
Same shape and dimensions except for the pipes, so the hands are not interchangeable.
81 - ETA 2872 ... 150/90/25
83 - ETA 555.112/5 ... 120/70/20

This configuration appears in a few 2013 watches, I've noted 4 out of 14 with the Day/Date dial. Yes, circle T dial but with SL compound. The standard RND SS watch was last issued in 2000 so any SS...
The condition of the dial is a result of water ingress usually caused by an unscrewed crown. A water-logged watch would not be fit for purpose and would have been exchanged for a serviceable watch...
How about filling the spring bar holes by using a 'cold solder' or 'low-temperature solder' process.
Terry
That's disappointing. I was planning on buying a 18mm JB for my PRS-1.
I have a 20mm JB and I see what you mean, they have trimmed the end fittings to 18mm but used the same links as the 20mm...
