This is madness £2,000 x 43.3% = £2,866 for a loose Sub
Vintage Rolex GMT 16750. Slim case, acrylic makes it a quite light, small crown does not dig into the wrist and 100m water resistance for peace of mind :)
Thanks guys, your kind comments make me feel that I made the right choice. Now just need to get the GMTIIc.......
Felt it had to be a Pepsi, I got a new insert fitted but kept the cool old faded one 8)
After a long time searching I decided to go for a GMT 16750, a bit rarer than the GMT 1675s and a better movement and water resistance. Just getting used to the lack of lume compared to my old SD...
I'm not thinking about resale yet but that's what I said when I bought my SD..... :?
Not really a case of being weak willed, just interested to hear what others might choose and any particular reason for it. Everyone will end up making the decision based on what they like best but...
I know the "which should I get?" threads are completely subjective but it is always useful to hear other people's reasoning as to which choice they would make. :)
Another Rolex post.....sorry
I have an opportunity to purchase a Rolex Sub 1680 or a GMT 16750 (prefer the updated movement and WR over the 1675). I am torn 50/50 as I love the look of the...
Thanks Martyn, I might give them a call :)
A central London independent who has a repair contract with Rolex said he could not do the work as he would be in breach of contract. I also heard that Rolex will polish the links if you return a...
I actually quite like when the scratches appear on a sports or tool watch as it adds a bit of "character" (unless you plan to flip it of course!) for me it is the overall look of the PCLs that I am...
I like the new sub but not sure when I will be able to get my hands on one or what ££ they will be..... A pre-loved GMT is around £1,000 cheaper I think?
I am thinking about purchasing a GMT but does anyone know a reputable jeweler, watchmaker or similar who can convert the centre links on a Rolex GMT IIc from polished to to brushed in the London...
I'm going to check the end links tomorrow and see if they will open the case back for me. 100% deposit seems a sensible way to go and then I can hopefully get David Duggan to take a look.
I found a decent-looking Submariner 16800 in a local jeweler/pawnbroker, it has a matte dial etc. It is the sort of shop where they pass you the watch through a slot in the toughened glass and lock...
Hi Wee Jock, I was recently in a similar position to you except I was/am going for a vintage sub and looking to p/ex my SD for one. I was offered silly deals from London dealers I contacted who were...
Most worn is Stowa Prodiver on a rubber strap or sometimes a TAG 2000 for when I want a less bulky watch. Least worn is SD (hence now in SC :( ) or my Breitling Emergency as it has recently been to...
Anyone ever owned one of these and used it as a daily wearer? Pictures appreciated!!
Thanks Bruce, the Rollercoaster looks interesting but can't seem to get on the Ardbeg website at the moment. It appears you have to join "the committee" to buy a bottle? :?
I bought a Cayenne Turbo from eporsch, he gave me a good fair deal for my Audi S4 and the Cayenne has been the best car I have ever owned. I insisted the car was checked out by Porsche Reading (by...
Get one of the last air cooled 911s, early water-cooled ones are problematic and a bit ugly which is why the latest 911s have gone back to the look of the earlier models. Superb everyday sports cars
RS6 or Cl65. Expensive but great cars, what about a M535d ?
Macallan 25yr old or a Springbank 15yr old are both superb. If you like a peaty whisky then try an Ardbeg
