I would agree with many of the earlier posts on this thread that the crown needs to be bigger. Not just bigger, but it should have the oversized knurls and curves of the original 6538, the current...
ahhhh... a 1992 issued SBS, what a watch to practice on Simon!
How about trying with a much more common post 2000 version next time :-) , I'd swap you a brand new one if you want!

Nice watch, great perseverance....now would you like to flip it :-)

That would have the same case as the Blancpain, thicker than the modern Squales. The 1000m rating is a bit unusual, though thicker they were normally still rated to 500m.
Lovely watch.

One pic of mine I took a while ago, an easy watch to make look good !

I picked up one of the 4s15-7000 titanium divers, a great watch in many ways, just the right size ( about 39mm , drilled lugs, titanium, normal Seiko lume etc, etc.
The crown was stiff to wind, I...
I didn't see the previous thread talking about the cells. I had a similar watch to the one below and Citizen had no problem servicing it with a new cell ( I bought it as a non-working watch ) , that...
That looks great, but the chance of restoration does not surprise me, those 300Ts were serious hunks of steel and thick screwed down glass crystals. It takes a lot to do anything more than cosmetic...
That's a great themed collection, very tough to get.

What a bonus! To find out the bezel on my 1993 SBS is totally original as issued is great. I will treasure that watch even more.

Terry,
What I meant was 1993 was close to 1992, the bezel is the same as far as I can tell. Your assumptions are probably as good as anybody's. Here is my 1993 issued SBS.

Interesting to hear you say that Terry, my 1993 SBS has the same bezel which was what made me notice it, not quite 1992 but very close.

A clear replacement bezel I think but I've seen several genuine issued watches from around that period with exactly the same replacement, could it even be that it was a genuine MOD spare part? Or is...
Robert,
That looks like an bezel insert rather than an actual bezel. It will have nothing to attach to. Have a look at this one for the correct bezel

If you try and take photo's to help sell it and decide to remove the caseback I suggest you take it to a GOOD watchmaker even for that simple operation as some watchmakers get even the basics wrong....
The IWC Ocean 2000 Bund was not the last watch specifically designed for military use as he states. The Precista 1993 dive watch certainly has that beaten and was not available to civilians.

IMO,
Helson easily scores over the Ocean 7 offering and is virtually identical to the PloProf tho the monobloc design is ruined by the screw in the back.
Yep, I really don't see the...
Does anyone ( presumably Eddie does ) know if the drilled lug holes on Eddie's watches have a standard size and if so what is it?
The PRS-25, PRS-18, PRS-50 all seem have similar looking holes,...
If Pannerai's watches are not homages then this must also be classed the in the same way, not an homage, a modern re-edition.

I have tried to google those sales but can't find them, how much did they go for approximately?
I want one if only to check for myself that the Benthos 1000m case is the same as the Tag Heuer...
Is that 1553 an automatic movement?

What about the lume on those? are the dials better than the cheap quartz ones?
They all use the same dials....
If you can re-lume yourself, they are great. If you get the type with the...
