I had a 748 It was beautiful but a real pain in the neck to ride...not to mention shoulders and wrists [emoji1]
The 749/999 is much more rider friendly.

The 1098/1198 is a glorious looking machine..possibly better looking than even the iconic 916/996/998 line up.
Like already mentioned I think the 999 was ahead of its time design wise and was a...

I've been away for a few days, so just catching up with the thread. I'm not a fan of the "adventure" style but in all fairness this looks really nice, especially in the red. Been reading about the...
No problem Tony...I may have missed some since the dealer collection ones...don't need to be to your usual high standards [emoji4]

Yes, I was made aware of this and have checked the MOT history on-line and have seen a lot of service paperwork too. I did look at another one that was being sold by a dealer in Newcastle where the...
To be honest Dave, I just fancied a bit of a change. I still have another Duke in the garage and having had a 748, a Pantah and the recent 749, thought I'd try something different, albeit another...
Yes, I think for me and my riding preference this has more than enough performance that I'll ever need. Very few if any electronic aids/modes etc so maintenance and servicing should be reasonable too...
Yes, just seen that now...don't think they do (or did) so maybe a typo? I'll have a good look on Sunday but I do get a good feeling when talking to the owner that it's been really well looked after.
Thanks Matt. The insurance company £'s have hit my account and I've been considering several alternatives. Bang for your buck this is too good not to consider, and I think it looks superb.
Thanks, yes I think so too. Ohlins forks, and rear shock..Not sure if the discs are OEM or aftermarket. The chap selling it is fairly mature (60) and has owned it for 10 years. The MOT history all...
Going to look at this as a replacement for my 749s...Long drive from Bristol to Doncaster on Sunday but having spoken with the current owner he feels it will be worthwhile..
...
Congratulations to the young man...I remember passing my bike test in 1982...such a great feeling...hope he has many years of pleasure on two wheels.
