Nice! I have small wrists, so that model is too big for me, but I am a big fan of the smaller Valjoux 72 Stingrays, and own two versions.
Cheers,

New watches (and especially Rolex and Tudor), perhaps. Vintage? Not so good.
I have a few that would fall into the "rare" category, one of which being this time-only J. Auricoste. The brand is known mainly for their Type XX chronographs, and I haven't seen another like this:...
ref. 866AD
• 37mm; 13.2mm (height)
• water resistant to 12 atm
• amagnetic to 80,000 A/m
• powered by the final iteration (854/854B) of the outstanding caliber 85x line
There are a huge number of terrific vintage options in that size range, which happens to be my preferred range well. I could post dozens of possibilities, but I'll just post one that, coincidentally,...
I have a number of vintage dress watches, this being the most recent acquisition…

The early, manual-wind Geneve models were positioned near the top of the Omega hierarchy. They were, aside from low productions chronometres, the best of the hand-wind models in the mid-late '50s....
I am a big vintage AP fan, yet have no interest in the Royal Oak. In fact, the more simple the better for me (as I could never afford a repeater, etc.).
Here's an example of one of mine:

Thank you!

This is my current favorite, but I stress current!

I like some versions of so-called "tropical" dials, and not others. This one, which happens to also be my favorite vintage dive watch model, I like:

I only buy and sell vintage watches, but have bought well over ten from Italian sellers (both private and dealers) and have never had a problem.

First generation Alpinist, and one of my favorites.

Beautiful example, coupled with superb photography. Thanks for posting!

You'd be nuts not to cannibalize the Vetta!
43mm may be wearable for you, but not for me. I'll stick with the original vintage divers that ranged from 36–40mm.
Rarely seen early Corum
