Some great suggestions here! That Presage is probably my fave, I have the brown cocktail sunburst myself and love it.
The wife is indeed part of the art teaching group, which at one point had me...
The wife has requested a watch with a green face for Xmas. She is a teacher so anything she wears takes a beating.
So I’m looking sub £1k. And under 39mm. Current favourite is the Formex essence...
I really like that. If I didn’t have the Formex Essence (which is a bit too similar) I would’ve bought this!
That was easier than I expected. Both were in the box next to me!
Although the difference doesn’t look that stark, the amount the cheaper one sits off the wrist is massive. With a slim watch like...
I had one of these, and although built well, the profile of it was massive and I ended up taking it off and buying the Hirsch variant (from Watch Obsession) as it sits really well on the wrist.
...
+ 1 for the Formex. The carbon Leggera clasp is fabulous and really low profile.

Scratch that! Sinn got back to me this morning, and the costs are a little surprising, as the service, which costs more than TWR, includes having the pushers and crown replaced.... which is the work...
I really do hear you all, and I don’t really want to go back again, but I’ve used the customer service page on the Sinn site to ask what price a service is, and I have left a message on the phone...
I’ve decided to be a bit British about this, I hear many good things about TWR. I’m going to let it go there for the service, mainly as I’ve already paid for it!
But I am going to contact them...
I always prefer a face to face dealing. Very disappointed to have them go worse than a web only conversation with a different country!
I haven’t named them yet, I will sort out my money before I do [emoji3526]
Maaaannn, More saga!
So, it turns out the watch didn’t even go to Sinn, it went to TWR, (who are an authorised Sinn repairer) in the UK. I could’ve bloody well organised that myself!
Finally...
It was the AD invoice, not a Sinn one.
I was keeping high trust levels... trying not to rile a situation ... till now.... Will contact them tomorrow if I don’t get a decent answer from the AD.
I got a Sinn travel pouch. But no receipts or anything.
So, it seems the saga hasn’t ended.....
The watch has had the crystal and button replaced, but it doesn’t look like it’s been serviced, the old glass was returned, but there are no bits in the...
I did have that thought a few times myself. At least lockdown kept me busy enough to not think about it!
Not lost interest, just very busy.... And due to a wife throwing all my spare cash at the bloody house, I’m trying to spend less time here getting tempted by the new shiny!
Anyway..... I played...
I actually sent Sinn 2 emails and one website request last year and heard nothing from them at all. So I rang, and got no one.
I also heard from a few people that they can often be...
That’s great info, thanks.
It was given to the dealer to send, they sent it to Sinn. The dealer phoned me with Sinn’s quote and the timescale. Sinn then sent (the wrong watch) to the AD and they sent it back to me
Update is...
Why how very dare you!! [emoji1787]
Errr.... well.... yes.... a polish might be on the cards if I manage to get it back!
There are always lessons to learn. What this has taught me, is to not fall over whilst wearing a nice watch.....
It was returned to me by post. The dealer was immediately apologetic, and on the case with Sinn, and transferred me the money to SD the watch back to him.
I should be hearing from him tomorrow,...
