I'm just a jealous guy....
I thought the investment thread was in G&D and this is watch talk.
Decent quality, ridiculous prices and marketing.
The balloon was always going to pop.
Ah well, how sad, never mind, enough to choose from when it all goes pear shaped.
I expected the NH36 to be fitted, but no, it’s a Miyota 9015, even better for that price.
Love the purple version.
Thanks for the update and insight Gary.
It seems you made the right move on the right time.
Yep, there it is, the jealousy card, and no surprise who played it. Personally I love ‘nice’ things, I even own some, but do so without the ‘being ripped off’ feeling. Nice things have all to do with...
Yep, wish him all the best, lovely design, cool even, I still have the quartz version on my wish list.
Wow, just wow.
Why is he wearing welding goggles?
A lot of people with more money than sense seem to buy Rolex, odd that.
Wow, point missed by a long way.
Thanks for the link, every day is a learning day…..
He’s talking about Swiss pioneering horological watch making companies, not Rolex specifically, hence my...
Certainly true, look at the ETA2824 and its evolution….
Would you say the same about the likes of TAG-Heuer and Breitling?, using that movement for decades now in several models?
The Rolex...
Captain Birdseye remembrance piece?
Profit or no profit, good business model or not, the new models look shite and are way to expensive.
That about sums it up for me P.
Fact is, as long as there are rich people enough in the world the luxury brands will sell. Lots of people still think status is something you can buy and not something you have to earn.
I was kindly talking about their older models, the new ones are overpriced micro-brand territory.
And since Bremont uses this, amongst other things, to justify their prices I thought it relevant....
If you have to much money and want to buy into a shit story, please do.
Can’t argue about design, but hardened cases, steel and titanium are common place with micro-brands, as are ETA movements.
Seiko's cheap and cheerful VK63 mechaquartz will do the trick.
You can argue all you want, but buying those new models for RRP is utter madness.
I'd rather put my money towards a Zelos to name but a micro brand, it's utter madness what they charge for a blown...
I don't usually like people making annoying remarks.
If, let’s say Mido, had done this design nobody would have given it any attention. A very generic attempt in launching a new diver.
Goes nice with my wafer thin ham sandwich....
The older the better :coolskull:
