Go with something larger: 34mm - 36mm. My wife wears a 36mm and wouldn’t go back to her old watch.
Congrats...now start getting some straps for that bad boy!!! I’ve got one Panerai and dozen different straps and each one makes the watch something different than the others.

I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the timing; much better than my 6309s (though I think it's mostly just luck of the draw). My Sumo also keeps similar time though that's a much newer watch.
My wife always noticed the Rolex President whenever she saw one so I got her a 36mm one 5 years ago for her “push” present. She’s a big fan now :)
I’ve got an old 6306 7040 that runs a consistent +2 spd. Not bad for an unserviced 35 year old movement
The scratches and scars that your watch picks up while you wear it are what make your watch yours. Don’t fret about them; they can always be fixed/replaced at a future service.
When they make one that isn’t ugly it will be tempting...
