Definitely try them on, you don't know how they will suit until you do. Sub will pretty much match anything from suit to beachwear. Forget buying as an investment though - but any ss Rolex won't...

The point is that police on duty can be charged with dangerous driving the same way you or I would be.

But the law also applies to the Police, and dangerous driving or trying to injury someone with a car is illegal.

Plus the Speedmasters have great recognition factor among his peer group. Other than a Rolex sub or DJ probably the most recognisable 'proper' watch out there (in a good way).

Really depends on his style and what else he owns watch wise. e.g. if he is always in jeans, trainers and tshirt and works in a trade classic dress watch probably wouldn't suit him as much as...
