One of my favourite references - I would suggest you consider having it serviced if you are going to regularly wear it - thanks for sharing.

My advice would be to keep the SD - if I had my time over I would have just stuck with the SD I purchased in 2002 and avoided the constant search for the new watch. Better spending the spare cash on...
Try Hillwood boxes - been buying them for years and the quality is excellent. They often have some good deals on used boxes on e-bay.

They can be serviced via the RSC. Not sure what issues you are expecting to encounter, but like all vintage watches there is an element of risk in any purchase.

I note the OP splits his time between Teeside and Angola so do you wear a Rolex whilst either in or transiting through Luanda? I lived there for several years, wearing my Explorer II every day. I...
Busy end to the year for me and a switch of focus to vintage/neo vintage.

It is a shame I didn’t know about this offer…..would have saved me £185……[emoji20]

Your best approach on these 5 digit references is to obtain the correct fit by adjusting the blade of the clasp (once you have got as close as you can by using the micro adjustments). You can gently...
I watched this when it was first released a week or so ago - all Omega watches (despite him apparently owning a large number of vintage Rolex watches), but I guess it was linked with an Omega...
No, it is a hobby. I don’t purchase with resale in mind. I buy purely for my own enjoyment.

Clasp code, box, booklets and papers (phased out in late 2007) all look Ok to me.
1995 - new from Goldsmiths for £1250 (full RRP at the time). Decided to buy an Oris chronograph instead…….[emoji85].

I am a total Rolex fan boy, but recently picked-up a pre-owned PAM0537 in a private sale for within your budget. I absolutely love it and at 42mm it fits my 6.75 inch wrist very well and has received...
I would just leave as is - that is an upgrade on the original bracelet [emoji1303]

If I was in your shoes I would take the best offer.
Wow…..three outstanding watches.

Tried both variants on today - they wear very nicely on my 6.75 inch wrist. You don’t really notice the lume, the hands are thin and it doesn’t look awkward in any way. First TAG I have ever...
Sounds to be as though they have serviced in-house and that your watch never went back to Omega - hope you get it all sorted to your satisfaction [emoji1303]

I wear an Explorer II (126570) on my 6.75 inch wrist. It has a flat case-back and is not too thick which makes it a comfortable fit. Lug to lug is about as large as I would like to go, but overall it...
Just one pre-owned Panerai added in the last few years as I have sat on my hands watching prices increase to insane levels (IMO). I have noted with interest the recent decline in prices of five digit...
I like the colour of the dial, but IMO your existing 5146 just looks so much nicer. Hope you manage to get yourself sorted.
I used STS to service my father’s Seamaster. They did a great job so another vote for them [emoji1303]. I am due to shortly relocate to the NE so will be interested in which option you finally select...
