This can apply to many things that people invest in speculatively (shares, gold, property, watches).
Does art that is bought for investment purposes have any intrinsic value?
Unless people decide it does.
If people stopped using gold as a store of value its price would be very low.
A bit like gold, then.
Even if it does go to zero, it's where it goes before it gets there that matters.
Bitcoin's gone up 25% in a week or so. How much gravy are you looking for?
