Not much need for boots in the SW as it very rarely snows or gets cold enough to wear them, but I still fancy a pair of LL Bean Duck boots.

Also, how do they size? I find American shoe sizes are generally half size larger than UK, so a UK 10...

Even with customs mine were still cheaper than Redwing. An alternative would be Eastland, their non-US made range is more readily available here, and they're decent quality too.
You'll be lucky to find a UK supplier. eBay is the best source.
I'm a UK 10 and have 6" Moc is a US 11. I only wear them in bad weather so went up a half size to allow for thicker socks.
I always mention Thorogood when this comes up. Genuine US made work/winterboots, as good as Redwing and around 50% of the UK price. For real bad weather a pair of Sorel are good value too.
