Have you looked at Volumio - I had that running on a laptop before I decided to buy more Sonos?
Indeed, thank you.
It's about being invested already and not wanting to have two different, concurrent systems. If I was starting from scratch then it would be Raspberry Pi all the way- for the time being I'm staying...
It's funny how addictive they can be. I purchased one of the 1st generation, farted around with it for a bit and then it sat in a cupboard until I give it to a colleague last year who was trying to...
To be honest I'd caution against filling up perceived unused capacity on your Pi. The beauty of the Pi Hole is that it's a single-function blackbox device and you run the risk of making it less...
Just got mine running as well. For the 1st time ever it's actually been possible to read one of Dunk's Peterborough Telegraph links :rugby:.
Not buying a micro HDMI adapter slowed things down a...
Couldn't you just do that with power over fibre? Oh, wait...
I think you've answered your own question - you can't beat a bit of copper.
I'm quite lucky that I already had what I needed. We bought one of these to try out in the office a while ago and I've become a recent adopter (although I use a headset so am only using the camera)....
The monitor arrived at the beginning of the week and I really like it - I have the new Philips 4k as main monitor with an Iiyama 24" (borrowed from the office) as the 2nd one. My work Lenovo laptop...
It's a year or two earlier than that :uncomfortableness:.
Thanks - with a bit of practice I've just managed to get Windows snap working but, at least for my own use, I think I'll stick with two monitors.
I've checked and it would seem that hers...
I've been through the process of looking at monitors and did examine the ultra-wide option as I've finally made the shift to working with two monitors. Given that I work with a fair number of apps...
A little bit of an update on my dilemma.
I got Volumio working on an old laptop as a test and it was largely satisfactory. There were a couple of niggles with IOS connecting as the remote control...
Thanks. I'll take a look.
Thanks for the suggestion but I won't have Google hardware in the house. I'm currently investigating Volumio - it has the benefit of supporting a number of hardware platforms so I can play with it on...
I think you're right - it doesn't do anything that the Airport Express doesn't already do.
We only have the World Service on FM here - everything else would need to be streamed and apart from the BBC we would need RTE Radio and a Cuban station.
Thought this might be the best place to stick this. What Rasbperry Pi build could I put together to serve the same function as a Sonos Connect. Requirements are
1. Stream audio to a HiFi amplifier...
