Figures show we entered a recession so will this be reflected in asking prices going forward. Time will tell!
Think the market has slowed down, seeing some properties come on with a more reasonable price, still high but not as ridiculous as previously. Also seeing some reductions which is nice - a way to go...
i think sellers are coming round to the fact that the covid boom is well and truly over, seen a few properties that have come on at reasonable prices which leads me to believe so. Still couldn't...
This surprised me (increasing ave house price) as it was more than 6 months on from Truss and Kwarteng and the start of increasing interest rates, I would have thought that effects of that would have...
Just browsing through RM sold prices, latest data March 2023 and it seems that houses even up until then were selling at a premium even though Truss & Kwartengs budget made IR's jump six month prior....
On what basis?
I wish that were the case, for a well priced property at say £500k, offering £425k as a starting bid, i'd get laughed out of the agents office at the moment. I think reality needs time to sink in.

seems to be a recurring theme of late, properties that disappeared from RM have now appeared, and some of them are at a more reasonable price but still out of my league.
i think the market is...

quick call to the agent today and they confirmed it was on for £475k previously, its now back on again after several years for £475k but the planning has lapsed. Apparently they took it off sale to...
A house I was really interested in at that start of the pandemic has just appeared back on RM. if memory serves me correctly it was on for OIEO £475k - which they claimed was full refurbished but...
Im seeing some properties that have been a round a while having some small reductions but they were priced high to start with imo and still not shifting.
Also seeing some new stuff come on (not...
i'm seeing several houses listed with 2 agents, i dont know what that will achieve as you see the same house twice on rightmove (some even reduced with one agent and the other agent hasn't caught up...
My 5 year fix comes to an end in a few months, I'm holding on until nearer the time.
what does 'real terms' mean?
Had a different experience recently, saw a house on Rightmove that had been on for a while and then disappeared, then reappeared.
So one morning whilst running as few errands I decide to drive by...
Moving is totally off the table for the E-5 household for the next few years or so. Tight squeeze at the moment and the money that would have been used for the increase in mortgage payments is now...
Personally i think its going to stagnate for the year, BOE interest rise, inflation, utilities going up, fuel costs up, new NI increase coming in, fixed income rate tax thresholds etc which means...
Back to work and back on the hunt - its dry as anything but i guess that's to be expected. Hopefully it will be a bit rosier come spring.
Can these prices be sustained going forward over the short term? Rising utilities costs, rising fuel costs, inflation on the up, tax rate bands frozen, sdlt holiday over and maybe a rise in the BoE...
Seeing a few properties re-appear that were previously marked as SSTC, and suprisingly they werent overpriced, i guess the chain broke along the way and didnt manage to complete in time to take...
Seems a few properties are being reduced recently, im assuming its because of the SDLT holiday coming to an end.
One property was on sale for £600k, way overpriced for the house even though its a...
With everything going on at the moment, rising energy prices, SDLT holiday coming to an end, furlough to end (which may affect someone in the chain possibly) and maybe even Christmas without turkey -...
