Black dials are still a good bit cheaper, if chrono24 is any guide.
I suppose the strong Euro tends to push up sterling prices.
Vintage every time, it's a lovely dial (black or racing). Love mine, although it is quite chunky on the wrist. Still more wearable than a mk 3 or Flightmaster, for instance.
Not sure what they go...
You did! Cheers!
My first post for about five years, following a period of watch hibernation…
I previously suffered a crippling weakness for El Primeros, and I’ve got both of these, a series II De Luca and black...
My vote would go to the Octavia VRS. It’s not the fastest car I’ve owned but it’s fast enough, very roomy and practical and pleasingly unflashy.
Fair points... the Highway Code has some handy advice for motorcyclists and drivers too! I am all three at different times, and it's really not about the vehicle.
I've had my 2.0t petrol VRS for 7 years now... I can't think of a replacement that would suit me better. Practical but still fun and doggedly reliable. The trim isn't as nice as the equivalent Golf...
When I was in a similar position, (10-20k budget about 8 years ago) I was looking at a Porsche 968 but ended up spending quite a lot less on a Jaguar XJR. Not a sportscar but certainly fast and...
off the original topic now, but...
Most of us pay tax on our business earnings, and I don't see why online traders should be different. Part of that means HMRC having systems to monitor - seems...
Another vote for an early El Primero... De Lucas are a tad over-rated imo, although I have one and love it greatly. The early EP models are rare, lovely and still quite good value.
Greipel again today I reckon. Cav will be nursing his wounds.
Lotto and Orica-Greenedge (maybe Liquigas too) will surely be trying for a win again... hopefully taking a bit of pressure off Sky in terms of pace setting. I have a hunch it could be Greipel. Cav...
A sports watch ought to be able to take a good hard knock, which rules out most mechanical movements I'd have thought.
When I wanted a fastish practical car I got a Skoda Octavia vrs. That was 5 years ago and it's been excellent. For comparison, I had a Jaguar xjr and an Impreza wrx before it, but the Skoda is the...
If robustness is an issue, hard to look past quartz. The centre minutes ETA movement (215.262, and maybe some others) is up there for functionality imo.
I'm not sure they design the website error messages, but I won't dispute your right to give your money to Italians!
A proper hat, obviously.
I don’t wear any of my watches often enough for the automatics to be going when I pick one up. So in practice, an auto is as much bother as a hand winder – in fact more bother in many cases, because...
Zenith is neither SwatchCo nor Richemont, but it is LVMH. That said, Vacheron is Richemont and Glashutte Swatch, so that seems to be going by the board.
The Polerouter sub is a beauty imo, but...
I've got four pairs of Grensons and might get a couple more!
They are wide rather than big, I find, which for a lot of blokes does mean a half size less, or more.
Reporting back… it all went ok on the day, no disasters and my speech went down pretty well. I did take some of the advice offered here, eg to avoid too many recycled jokes and keep it relatively...
I’ve always used Bennetts.
Thanks for all the replies again lads… some useful tips and much helpful reassurance.
I am, to be honest, not much of a fan of weddings so it’s helpful to have a few other perspectives and...
I'll hold that thought...
Thanks for the replies chaps. Keeping it short is the way for me. Some good ideas but there's a limit to what I can do at this stage.
The schedule is all...
