Same here really, I've never been bothered about having a date function.
I actually prefer looking at a calendar....... particularly one with pleasant ladies on it.
Well said indeed.
A lovely example. I'm very envious.
There certainly are some lovely choices on here, but I'll go for the wonderful Harrison H4.
Very interesting. Many thanks.
Well I enjoyed it. Thanks.
Lovely clock, and I'd be interested in further info.
Mind blowing organisation.
Very interesting read.
Thanks for sharing.
It does nothing for me either. Detracts from the simple beauty of the dial.
A great and modest man, who inspired anybody with imagination.
I was beginning to get withdrawal symtoms.
Nice to be home!
Eddie, thanks for all your hard work.
Congratulations Scott on your 12009 or so posts.
That's just boosted mine by one.
We could keep this going all night!
Tomsdad, I think the 1665 adds that little bit extra over the 5513.
I enjoyed wearing my 1665 for 25 years, before moving it on.
I imagine it sits in a safe now.
So go for it!
+1. My sentiments exactly.
A man who loves his work.

This reinforces my view that you don't necessarily have to go to Rolex for service work.
My vote would be for the lovely 5513.
It surely wouldn't need £950 spending on a service?
If it belonged to me I'd take it to a good AD watchmaker.
Please don't tell the bloke it's worth a fortune, or it'll end up where most of the...
Find a nice 5513. Failing that, a 14060.
I might be the odd one out here, but why do all these watches have to serviced at Rolex HQ?
I've said it before, there are plenty of competent (approved) AD watchmakers who will service Rolex.
130. The watch is quite new.
I have to say that I like the style of the 14060 / 5513 Submariners, and have done since the 1960's. Being an old git probably explains it!
That's a beauty!
When I was about 16, and starting an apprenticeship in the 60's, I bought a new Omega Seamaster. Took some saving up!
