Made the mistake of going to see Napoleon without checking Rotten Tomatoes first. Despite the efforts of Ridley Scott and Joaquin Phoenix, it was a stinker! Phoenix gave a terrible, wooden...
The Royal Hotel...the Mrs. and I were VERY UNIMPRESSED, despite Rotten Tomatoes 96% rating.
Yes, it was excellent! Due to some graphic nudity and sex, I would NOT bring any kids under 16.
Off to see Oppenheimer today!
Saw Tom Cruise today in MI. I would rate it "pretty good." Not even close to the fantastic new Top Gun - Maverick.
Seeing Tom Cruise Tuesday...
Yeah, Mrs. PC and I went to the new Jennifer Lawrence film, No Hard Feelings...about a 32 year-old hired to "socialize" a couple's 18 year-old son before he heads off to college.
EXCELLENT!
...
Saw Sanctuary last week, starring Margaret Qualley (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood...also the daughter of Andie MacDowell) and Christopher Abbott.
Very different. The entire movie is about a single...
Saw Air yesterday, the story of how running-oriented Nike broke through in 1984 to make the biggest shoe deal in history when it signed Michael Jordan and created the Air Jordan brand. EXCELLENT!
...
Completely OT but had to mention...I watched 1992's Alien 3 the other night and noticed that Ripley reported the date as Year 7510, which was referred to in Zager and Evans 1969 No.1 hit In the Year...
I just saw John Wick 4. I was a bit disappointed and frankly got bored with the non-stop killing. Ho-hum...
My oldest son (46) in Minnesota just watched Everything Everywhere All at Once and said it was much better than he expected. Parallel universes (not unlike The Matrix) made it especially intriguing...
Love the carnage!
Took Mrs PC to see A Good Person yesterday. I thought it was very good, while the wife thought it was "OK."
Florence Pugh gave an outstanding performance.

Going Saturday with a buddy...can't wait!
Just watched Atomic Blonde again, with Charlize Theron and James McAvoy. Outstanding!
...
We just saw Tom Hanks in A Man Called Otto at the cinema. I'm not the biggest Hanks fan, but this film was excellent!

Mrs. PC and I saw Bill Nighy in Living, for which he has been Oscar nominated for Best Actor. Very different, cerebral type of film, but I really enjoyed it and it had me thinking all the way home!...
Encore...if you've never seen Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road, do yourself a BIG favor and watch it. Non-stop action.
Rotten Tomatoes: 97% Certified Fresh.

Mrs. PC and I saw Steven Spielberg's "The Fabermans" yesterday. My wife found it somewhat boring, but I enjoyed it a lot. I admit that Spielberg was a bit self-indulgent in extending the run time...
Recommend staying away from this:

Mrs. PC and I just saw Don't Worry Darling. Harry Styles was meh, but Florence Pugh was great. Didn't care for the ending.
I was also contemplating a look. Rotten Tomatoes shows it 69% "Fresh" from critics, and 76% "Fresh from audience responses.
After reading some of the reviews from Top Critics, I think I might...
