beat me too it...just picked up the Times (not a usual thing), and was interested to stumble across the supplement.
Strange how the watch industry seems to be in 'campaign' mode all of a sudden.

I have a 'reduced' Omega Speedmaster Auto that has lost its winding crown.
Can someone point me in the direction of a watch repairer who they would recommend to look at it?
many thanks
Steve
Many many thanks Eddie, and humble apolgies.
As the song goes..you don't know what you've got till its gone.
Hey...How are you?
Sounds to me like its died. My 80 gig died in a similar way.
I managed for a while to extend its life by using Mac software to re-partion...but evetually it threw a wobbly.
...
Reckon we have an age profile emerging :D :D :D
...mine was the album Fog on the Tyne by Lindisfarne. Still plays well...but I dare not think how long ago 1971 or 2 was!!
Steve
gradually moved all the computers to Macs in this house.
I've been the last, inheriting my sons older g4...but its for photography that this kit really comes into its own.
We haven't yet bothered...
...and now I've just done it again, and download speeds running at 4.8 mbs!!
I guess it depends on how many are on and using it at any particular time.
Steve :?

Steve
After watching the Gadget Show this weekend, they were saying the same thing about how we in the UK are being ripped off with Broadband Speeds.
In fact on their web-site there is a page for testing...
...thanks for that. Sorry I missed that thread.
Just for the curious...

Funnily enough, I saw an advert in one of this Sundays supplements for the 50th anniversary Sppedmaster. Given that I turned 50 this year - my wife said if I wanted to get it then she wouldn't object...
..not bothered about entering the mac vs pc debate, but suffice to say over the last couple of years we have switched all the household machines to mac (kids imacs/powerbook secondhand and now a new...
just had my faith in apple totally boosted.
Went to an apple shop today, where they sussed out my problem all stemmed from a dodgy 3rd party power supply...then the guy even explained to me how to...
A machine is a machine...they all go wrong, which is why apple still can charge £200+ extra for a 3 year warranty.
At the end of the day though, we have several machines in the house now...but give...
Been trying Safari on my PC...keeps crashing. Only doing this coz I 'inherited' son's G4 Powerbook, but in a typically inept moment decided to load the re-install dvd to try and cure a power...
Fschwep..Hey, many thanks. That really is cool software...love it.
Now..can I drag and drop picture files into other microsoft programmes ?
Thanks Fschwep...very informative. Almost without thinking about it I've been using alternate software on my pc (Firefox behaves So well!!)
Going to have to check out Fatsone now though...cheers
Alan
Would I be better looking at photoshop for mac then, rather than aperture?
To be honest though...I don't use editing much, unless there is a real problem with a picture.
Oh and another...
Very interesting thread to follow...
No one has mentioned the differences of what it actually feels like to use a Mac or PC.
I've been left with our Dell PC, after the kids both got Imacs, and my...
Well I am.
Sanctimonious people...
Its the texting generation thing.
Stop it.
:D
can only agree 100% with views on macs. Both kids have one(imacs) and my son uses a notebook for live recording..
However, I'm really trying to determine if the '.mac' accounts are worth paying £120...
I can only reflect and repeat what everyone else has said...its really really awful.
I still wear with great pleasure the Speedy 57 re-issue, although that will be of no consulation.
Steve
quoll...just admiring that tan strap as well. It looks very similar to a 22mm hirsch liberty that I have..possibly not though ??
I like the brown too..here's an alternative
