a stunning watch and a good replica of the original Ingenieurs, with reservations as I have never been a follower of see through back plates

If you prefer something "a little smaller" than the bulkier watches there is a midsized Ingenieur 3228 which might fit the bill.
I agree with your and other comments....I am not a fan of the new...

Both watches are great but do understand that to be correct the 3548 Cousteau was never issued on a bracelet, only the dark blue rubber strap. That said the AT bracelet fits well but I personally...

1. IWC Fliegerchronograph 3706, the first model or
2. IWC Dopplechronograph 3711 / or...
This is a Vintage Collection Ingenieur not a Vintage Ingenieur and in no way is it a true Ingeniuer in as much as it does not have the farraday anti magnetic cage surrounding the movement. That said...
