Okay might be a dumb question, but here goes.... why are the bezel markers the reverse to a normal dive bezel?

Bezel is a minute count down timer as opposed to elapsed...

Good to have this one back in the fold, thanks to Matt who looked after it for a couple of years and kindly let me buy it back....
