This^. The Borealis Iso's are my personal favoirite strap, have one on each of my turtles. The watchgecko zuludiver nato's are excellent too, and sometimes absurdly cheap when they have a sale on.

This ^. Far better security, if a springbar fails the watch stays on your wrist. Plus it's easy to have a dry spare to pop on when you get out of the water if a wet strap irritates.

I left a case sans movement in a pint of water overnight and no problem. Not a pressure test obviously, but no leaks.

Handsets and dials definitely will. Be aware though of the crown position. Seiko turtles, skx's etc have a crown at approximately a quarter to four and aftermarket dials have feet positioned thus....
I think the waffle, and the olive nato you mention are the best two choices available.

Yes, that's a genuine Seiko movement.
I'd guess a combination of bulk buying the movements from Seiko and incredibly cheap labour costs allow them to make a profit.

The dial should be interchangeable on all the Seiko homage 4 oclock models, and that's where the forum branding would be, so maybe there could be a choice of models?
