How can that be true when people like Sir Keir Starmer has developed Covid twice in the last few months alone?
Whilst a previous infection seems to leave you with antibodies, turns out they’re...
You can, but vaccines do offer some protection against breakthrough infections as well, and certainly help keep you out of hospital if they don’t.
I’m not sure why you’re so keen to downplay...
Should we just ignore the proven benefits around reduced transmission and reduced severity of any breakthrough infections now then even in the under 50s?
I’ve lived under the same roof as two...
It might be 50/50 actually in ICU, but helidoc was making the point about the vaccine status of those who are intubated.
There is a difference.
Do you think they’d be even higher if nobody was vaccinated?
Helidoc actually said “ The vast majority of our ventilated patients are unvaccinated. Vaccines aren’t perfect, but they massively reduce your risk of death and critical illness.”.
He didn’t say...
The vaccines do reduce transmission, but additionally they are protective, hence the fewer numbers pitching up in hospitals now despite the case numbers.
The politicians have not always followed the science at all, despite what they may tell you.
I mean, which scientist said it would be ok to go into a pub and have a scotch egg?
You seem to have a bit of difficulty sorting science from political policy?
Glad you were ok anyway, and best of luck for the next wave.
Even with the smaller sticks that come with the newer kits, I’ve always swabbed around the tonsils and then the nose.
I do a test every day, for work mostly, and have to do a PCR every week too,...
I’d expect all the posties to be dead if that were a reliable form of transmission.
Edit: Sorry, only 1% of them as 99% of people recover just fine from Covid apparently.
Yes, the current vaccines offer protective immunity (subject to the usual not 100% caveats), and not sterilising immunity.
They still seem to have broken the link between cases and...
I had my Moderna Booster a week last Monday, fine on the day, but 24 hours later felt pretty rubbish with headache and fever.
Fine after a comfort meal and half a bottle of red though!
What’s bizarre about as many peoples immune systems being primed as much as possible for what’s to come?
A combination of both vaccines and a booster are proven to be the best current defence...
You seem to be surrounded by a lot of tragedy/misery?
Source for this please?
My own personal experience (posted earlier today) seems to demonstrate that vaccines are breaking the chains of...
Quite! :-D
But I’ll have a plain chocolate hob nob if you’re offering…
Just my personal experience, but our young daughter tested positive for Covid last Monday, along with most of her classmates.
My wife and I are both fully vaccinated, some 6 months ago now, as...
