Serious question...what's a risk score?
More than 24 hours without slagging off a 'lycra clad cyclist' holding up a virtuous car driver trying to get to work....must be a record.
I'm not a fan of cycle paths. I frequently hear a cry from car drivers of 'get on the fcuking cycle path!' to which I might respond 'get on the 'fcuking M4!'. I'm biased because I was hit by another...
I think that the 'imagine that it is your son or daughter on that bike' thought invokes a powerful image....
From the Guardian article that you quoted.....'When he became Greater Manchester’s...
Groundhog day :-/
I totally concur with all that Montello. It’s become a way of life for me. I think it’s a sign of the times. The whole world has become polarised, there’s no middle ground, you’re for us or against...
I was pondering this 5Hz fact, considering that a 36,000vph movement ticks 10x per second not 5. I’ve just researched it & have now improved my understanding.
Does it make a difference if they're 'lycra clad'?
Quite a few years ago a bunch of four or five of us cyclists were riding along the A4 near Bath when a car driver overtook us, blared his horn, & waved what looked like a credit card at us through...
When I commute by bike it’s motorists that are holding me up & inconveniencing me a lot more than me doing the same thing to them. I regularly overtake one to two hundred vehicles on my way to work....
It reminds me of the car’s voice on Knight Rider
I always thought it was ‘member of nation’s greatest’
Such a sense of humour tends to desert you when you’ve been at the receiving end of perpetual attempts by drivers to run you off the road & apparently try to kill you just because you dare to ride a...
You’re joking I hope.
My first thought on reading the OP was ‘I wonder how many posts before the cyclist haters pile in?’ You did not disappoint.

How pathetic
That's my understanding. It's a bit like agreeing to call your cat a dog. No matter what is agreed, what you have is still a cat.
I want it the other way around DL. It's already classed as a van....I'd prefer it to be classed as a car. Cars aren't charged in the Bath CAZ, no matter what their emissions are.
Maybe car excise duty? But HRMC do not countenance it as an LGV as it does not meet their definition of one.
I thought that it had something to do with it no longer meeting the regulations for new...
Did it have side windows? i.e. was it a Station Wagon?
All post 2009 Defenders were classified as LGV. That’s the problem. It’s what it says on the V5 that determines whether you get charged or...
I think it’s something to do with a deal that Land Rover did with the DVLA which led to post 2009 Defenders being reclassified as vans. Pre-2009 they are cars.
This is the first time I’ve entered the CAZ since it came into force 3 years ago. Now, when I want to get across town it’s a 3 mile detour.
I took this photo on The Circus the day before the CAZ...
According to the DVLA, the vehicle on the left is a car but the one on the right is a light goods vehicle aka a van.
As such the one on the left can be driven in Bath’s Clean Air Zone without...
I bought one of those….they WERE pretty perfect

Sounds like a hypochondriac's nightmare.
I’m not a massive pork pie fan but I always try & partake of one from Petch’s in Great Ayton when I’m up there
