Good timing, I've just taken my Red Wing Ice Cutters out of storage and in the process of cleaning / proofing them in readiness for his winter . I have to say the boots have never let me down, over...
Thanks, much appreciated. I'll have a look and see if they have a pair in my size . Also good to see you've found a boot that just fit's !
I like those, Is that the Stow Country ? If so, how do you find the sizing?
Admittedly it was a good few years ago but I always found DM's useless in winter, they always leaked at the first sign of snow. Now more a fashion brand I'd say.
If you want to go down the Red Wing route then get a proper winter boot such as the Ice cutters that will last you for years. I've had mine for a few years now and have been excellent. A full Vibram...
I'd agree with this. Moc toes thankfully give plenty of room so breaking them in shouldn't be too difficult in cmparison to some of the other Red Wing shoes. For cleaning I usually alternate between...
You use mink oil to both condition and waterproof the leather. You can also use the red wing leather restorer occasionaly to help treat the leather. For the white soles/edges, I use toothpaste, a...
I think I'll stick to my 7 year old red wing loggers this year. As the 'warmer' winters even in Scotland don't really merit a full blown 'artic' pair for general use. Get the feeling these boots...
Very nice.
I've been wearing my Red Wing Ice cutters. Have to say so far I've been pretty impressed, ok no ice or snow so far to test grip etc, but with the wool lining they have kept my feet...
You big girl's blouse :tongue-new:, it's Edinburgh you live in not the Cairngorms. :la:
I doubt you'll find a pair cheaper, the RRP is around £240. As for size, for me Redwings do size large. There'es alot of room in the Moc toes, so you're looking at coming down 1/2 to one full size.
Thanks for the heads up. I ordered another pair of Redwings and saved nearly £100 over the normal RRP.
I picked up a pair of Red Wing Logger boots with a proper vibram commando sole which was excellent in the snow and ice last year. Maybe not to everyones taste but I have been looking at getting a...
