I attached the acrylic directly to the decking frame that was already square so it is level going into the water. The light weight of the 3mm acrylic and no risk of cracking also meant it...
I wasn’t happy where you could see the frame under the decking where it met the pond so I had a sheet of mirrored acrylic made up.

Thank you, no fish at the moment more of a wildlife pond with newts, frogs etc. I might put a couple of sticklebacks in as there are plenty of insects in there to sustain them.
I Extended the pond to go under the decking, I’m going to put another waterfall in the stream next.
