8.08am. Log on to TZ, read a bit, then - horror of horrors - note that my watch is seven minutes slow. How can that be? Hurriedly reset it. Go out, find all other clocks are now out of sync with me....
I have the Dornblueth catalogue and highly recommend people to order one. Like the watches, it is a thing of joy and beauty.
Work or play, I've only worn a diver's watch for years. I get up, mind full of the day ahead, jump in the shower; oops, the watch..... No, through various makes it has only been a waterproof...
I haven't studied in detail, but I guess, despite the large hands, it isn't luminous. Different, but colour coordination sensitive I guess. I wonder how much a replacement strap is? First, catch your...
Having wanted a Polluce for some time, this well researched and well written article has only reinforced that thought. Brilliantly done and congratulations.
For me, amongst this well thought out collection, I'd either have the Ball or the Anonimo. I still have this yearning for a Polluce though. Then of course there is Sinn, Damasko, a Spring...
I bought a watch from the USA for SWMBO. First though, I checked out their reputation on http://www.bizrate.com. An invaluable guide as to whether they are reputable or not. As regards customs etc. I...
Yes, but watches are in the main like the king's new clothes. It is the make that impresses, not what is within. Amongst the cognoscenti we are suitably impressed, but Mr. Merchant Banker (in more...
With you Dadel  It goes on Ebay this evening at 9pm should anyone be interested.
I think the abacus was in fashion when I was born. Did Rolex make those too?
My monster is good for 200 metres in the bath every day :D Takes it with no problems at all.
To show solidarity and entente cordiale, bonjour de Le Mans, France.
Great site thanks. Bookmarked. I guess I am like many others here; I'd love a GS but am afraid of losing a fortune. My favourite by far is this:-

It was the #74 in August - where I replied to Tony Dron's article on "cool". I drove a people carrier which towed the prototype D-type around the Bugatti circuit and they airbrushed out the tow rope...
I won this but at 48mm it is huge! on the Bay it goes I guess because I don't have enough posts here to put it on sales corner and I refuse to post silly replies just to get to the required 50.

42mm people think big because they are used to bezels. However, like my Spitfire Chrono at 42mm, the dial is bigger than the Monster but overall the same size in diameter. A lovely watch by the way....
Seiko without a shadow of doubt. price/value/reputation second to none. My IWC I won't sell, but one can lust over Breguet, Jaeger le Coultre and so on even though one can never afford one. My worst...
Strangely, this one:-

By far the most accurate automatic I have ever had, requiring no adjustment over 60 days. and all that...
Where watches are concerned age doesn't amtter it seems. Well, I'm still buying anyway...........
Yours sincerely
Al Zheimer.
Love the watch but not too sure about the shirt :laughing6:
Age does come into it sadly. I was talking to a nurse who works in an old folks home and a lot of them have problems with their watches. Seems they don't move enough to keep them would up.
Don't suppose you have a Monster as well do you? I'd love to see a comparative photo before ordering. I think I can get away with the size but am not sure, but a lovely watch, that's certain.
If you really like watches, it is the technology and skill of manufacture that counts, not the name. The Spring Drives are a tour de force, a watch far more accurate than any other that isn't quartz....
Having been burgled and lost my watches, think hard where you put them. Oh, and they knew what they were doing too - even looked under the bath by accessing the trap from a cupboard! Think very hard.
