Just a thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. You have certainly contributed lots of useful advice and information for me to ponder.
I've actually gone for the route one approach and...
I am currently attempting to restore a 1980 CWC G10 quartz.
I have a good case, dial, hands, and crystal but the movement is u/s.
From information gleaned from this forum I think it is a type...

Numbers on my 1980 issue CWC match yours (except serial number) i.e. no preceding W10 etc.

No I don't, I'm still deciding whether it's worth putting new crystals in the 100 CWC G10s of various vintages which I have in the cupboard or whether to sell them as is.
