Nope - the government does not specify that you make any money - any *work* even if it is loss-making is not permitted - this is not permitted.
There is no system except for UBI that I can think of that does not have cliff-edges or fringe cases or administrative complexity.
Why should they? I'm a landlord and it's always been the line that we take the risks so should see the rewards.
Well here are the risks.
I see the Govt is suggesting that once this is over, they will look at raising the taxes the self-employed pay.
This is why people are in a mess - complex games to hide what should be employees or workers that ends up confusing people - In the UK you cannot be a self-employed worker.
