Very pleased that this arrived safely after quite a long journey, in more than one sense.

That is a really lovely watch all round, I didn’t think it would take long to sell. Congratulations.
Likewise, your Milspec seemed like the perfect FF variant.
Mines a bit scruffy too but I think that suits the movement which is rugged in construction but polished in performance.
Superb, what a nice example.
Cheers M. I am very pleased with it.
Thanks. I put a few more pictures on MWR on the JWB Pre-tropical thread. I’ll wear it for the next GTG :).
I bought this a couple of months ago but first time on the wrist after a thorough and expert service/repair.

Thanks, I notice you are a fan.
Cheers Alan, I’ll bring it along next time. It really is lovely.
Highly delighted to have this arrive today via Ollie’s SC post.

I’m not surprised; that’s lovely.
I’m not surprised, very elegant in an understated way. There is something unbeatable about gold numerals and hands, a patinated dial and a steel case.
I know that UG has a great reputation but...
That’s very cool. I’d only ever seen Jacques Droz style haute horology automata watches before. Apparently Smiths had a range of different ones. Maybe Eddie could relaunch them.
Cheers, all ready to battle the Mekon. The original plastic stand is in pretty good nick as well.

I couldn’t resist this Smiths/ lngersoll Dan Dare automaton pocket watch.

Even better as a video:

My Helvetia Dienstuhr, just arrived and on one of Eddie’s straps. The case is a bit beaten up but I think it is all original except probably the plexi. The caseback and lug references match. ...
Superb. I really like that Elgin.
Thanks for showing the caseback on the JLeC. As Carlton-Browne wrote, a classic GSTP.
Very nice. The dial and hands look in good shape. Watch out for the radium lume and any dust or particles that might be floating around the dial or movement.
What are the markings on the back?
Nicely done! I was watching that one, thinking it looked nice but I’ve got one too many ‘project’ watches already. I’m glad it all works, must be one of the best around.
Thank you. I think it manages to look distinctive but not gimmicky. I haven’t checked the timing yet but read up about the movement. 80hr power reserve is helpful, and the quality of the Hamilton...
She’s already put up with me for 35 years :).
Just recently we celebrated our Coral wedding anniversary. My wife told me that she wasn’t about to buy me some pink coral jewellery, so instead picked something I could use to go and see coral...
Very nice. I’ve been prevaricating over some similar ones for a couple of years. That looks great and I bet a decent quality movement as well.
