is a 330m ohm resistor the same as a .33 ohm resistor?
RS PRO Aluminium Housed Wire Wound Panel Mount Resistor, 330mΩ ±5% 100W
RS Stock No. 175-2452 Brand RS PRO
RS PRO
its for a cooling fan mod that mini use, the mini forum say you need a .33ohm 100w power resistor to slow the fan speed this is the one i found on RS site
Cheers
For reference:
0.1 ohm = 100 milliohms
0.01 = 10 milliohms
0.001 = 1 milliohm
From long and bitter experience RS, Farnell &c sometimes get confused themselves about the difference between mR and MR - check it with a multimeter before you use it!
RS technical emailed me to say that this manufacturer uses R as a decimal point so R33 becomes .33 ohm ,and 33R 33 ohm so all is well
The BS 1852 Letter Coding for Resistors
0.47Î[emoji2398] = R47 or 0R47
1.0Î[emoji2398] = 1R0
4.7Î[emoji2398] = 4R7
47Î[emoji2398] = 47R
470Î[emoji2398] = 470R or 0K47
1.0KÎ[emoji2398] = 1K0
4.7KÎ[emoji2398] = 4K7
47KÎ[emoji2398] = 47K
470KÎ[emoji2398] = 470K or 0M47
1MÎ[emoji2398] = 1M0
Where Î[emoji2398] is the Ohm symbol.
thanks for that ,so all seems ok,
cheers
