Peaceful, Great pub's and beaches. Cheap accommodation and only a short walk/drive from Carlton Marshes, Benacre, Coveheithe, Southwold, Walberswick and Dunwich.

(Lived here all my life and will never move.)
You'll have a lovely time. ;)
I wouldn’t bother with Norfolk or Suffolk both are very crowded and the people are horrible, apart from Karl of course.

If you want areas to be uncrowded, don’t mention them. Let people quietly make their own discoveries, and keep them to themselves. There are 64,000,000 people in the UK. With a landmass far smaller than places like France.
It’s an overcrowded country, Covid made that pretty obvious. One of the highest population densitIes in industrial Europe.
There are quiet places in Devon, for a reason, they will be in the middle of nowhere . If you like walking then between Tavistock and Okehampton is quiet if you can find an air B&B
South Hams will be rammed around Bigbury and forget Dartmouth
Falmouth St Ives and Padstow are mental right now, avoid
Cornwall rural isn't that great, pretty dull countryside , Exmoor Dartmoor are much nicer places of you can find a farmhouse
Minehead had no beaches but is a nice place with nice walks

Have a look around the Cranbourne Chase area. It’s beautiful.
But I am biased.
The beautiful city of Edinburgh
Popped in to pick up a watch (obviously) this morning.
I have never seen the city so quiet
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I was in Glasgow twice this week. It too was very quiet, considering it would normally be rammed with shoppers & holiday-makers.
The thing is that, with it being so less-busy, it was easy to see how grubby (actually, filthy) the streets, pavements & shop-fronts were. Very disappointing, particularly as it's a host city for EURO2020.
(The lack of footfall hasn't reduced the number of stumbling junkies & street-beggars that populate the city centre.)
There is the northern and southern rivers and the north gets busier. South you have some nice pubs and stops, Oulton Broad, Beccles, Burgh and stops and mornings if you fancy chugging up to Norwich.
It is generally quiet, I’m a 20 min walk to the Waveney between OB and Beccles and it’s a stunning place.

Pretty uncrowded here today
Hull is rammed this summer, but I've heard Swindon isn't going to be too busy...

Slough should be "OK" too.
Swindon, Slough, and now Scunthorpe appeals as a likely place to get away from it all. They all begin with S. Is there something going on here?
It already is much worse, there were so many families here since the beginning of July despite it not being school holidays.

It was absolutely rammed about two to three miles north of Bude
last week.[emoji3]

If it’s uncrowded then no one wants to go because it’s shit!
You could buy a nice Motorhome and go wherever you want
Whilst cycling around the Cairngorms if one motorhome passed there always seemed to be another five following it. I think that they hunt in packs.
There are a few beaches here in South Devon that are rather quiet, but the key features are a) relatively unknown, b) you have to park up elsewhere and walk to them and c) no cafe or public toilets.
Having been to Bude last week it failed on all three counts, but Crooklets Bay wasn't too bad - and Crackington Haven was positively pleasant.

Well I’m currently on a circular camping tour of Devon & Cornwall in some beautiful U.K. weather. Who needs abroad when the weather is like this?
Anyway my pick so far is Instow & Appledore. Lovely places on either side of the Torridge estuary with views across Staunton Sands out to sea. Hills of Woolacombe in the background too.
Lovely smattering of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Totally unspoilt and much, much quieter than places like St. Ives and Padstein.
We enjoyed our couple of days there, and it is our pick of the trip so far.
We looked at UK briefly. Decided that going to Spain still a better option. Cheaper and - now we're here - it appears actually less crowded.
Got our laptops, so if there's any danger of category red we'll be working from "home".

I think anyone trying to drive to any of the coast within 4 hours normal drive time of London (or probably any major city) will agree that most people are day-tripping, weekending or holidaying in the UK this summer.
The roads are rammed and accommodation in coastal towns (well on the South Coast at least) almost impossible to find (and stupidly expensive, if you do!)
Someone I know was quoted £500 for 2 nights in a tent!

Let’s head steadily to the seaside, always west. Worthing, Littlehampton, Bognor, Selsey, Padstow, East Wittering. Best bet, all of them, within 30 minutes drive. Great beaches. Look around, stop moaning. I’d recommend Littlehampton, huge beach and very ‘old school’. Try the east and west beaches at selsey. Pretty down at heel but unique and unspoilt. Good Times. The fish are very flat and weird looking.
And that’s not the locals….
south wales has some nice uncrowded beaches and areas if you know where to look , my sister lives near bridgend and ive been to ogmore by sea and southerndown many times and seen very few people for such a large beach (ogmore by sea) - its between cardiff and swansea so a short drive to a major city for a resturant or a change of pace or if you fancy some time away from the beach then brecon has some great walks.
