Another interesting issued pocket watch

This was on display in Stratford upon Avon yesterday.
I am wondering what it’s purpose was?

I think some of them were used during artillery barages.

That one is RAF and WWII. At least that's what the label indicates. Timing bombing runs would be my guess. Artillery in the sky.

6b/60 is the number for a chronometer according to another forum, so not just hubris on the label.

MWR would be the place to ask if you are really interested. Hopefully M4tt, bobbee or one of the other experts will be along shortly to explain more.
