Hi, as above. My mother in law is moving house and needs to buy a new TV.
She will have no broadband or internet to speak of, so a non-smart TV is needed.
Size around 43".
Can anyone provide some recommendations please?

Just because a TV has smart features you don’t need to use them. Some good deals at Costco of late but most modern TV’s will have smart features built in.
But I would be guessing you are paying more BECAUSE it has smart features.
It’s akin to buying a top of the range car (and paying considerably more) and then saying you don’t have to use the features.

Not necessarily so. It's cheaper to build every TV the same & just inhibit certain functions to produce what seems to be a cheaper/lower spec model. I believe Tesla do the same with their cars; the batteries are same but the lower spec models just aren't allowed to access all of the power available.Quote:

That Panasonic from AO looks really good, if its not for a home cinema (ie doesn't need 4K or HDR) its probably exactly what you want.
If you want a higher spec, you'll likely need to go for a Smart model. I share your thoughts, I hate it, but if you don't connect it to a wifi network it cannot do anything. They have been known to spy, record, etc so these opinions and suspicions are not unfounded.
