That’s the third time you’ve said that since you passed your test!![emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Lovely bike though, I must try a bmw boxer at some stage!
I’m still tinkering with the old bus though.

I took my r nine t out for a ride today and got chatting to two other members of the r nine t brotherhood.
They're great bikes and that boxer is just so characterful
They aren't the fastest which I really like, you can have fun and enjoy the ride without winding it right up to the red line the whole time

Met up with Tony to enjoy seeing some lovely bikes.
Interesting to see how often BMW boxer engine is used for the custom builds.

No, it was definitely the KR250; the KR1/KR1S came later as you say.
Reading the article however, it was Huddersfield Kawasaki that imported them and that was my nearest Kawasaki dealership so I saw quite a few of them. That’s probably why I thought they were an official import.
Interesting though, that the discussion stemmed from my comment about Jap bikes with longitudinal cranks and the KR250 actually had twin transverse cranks.

Tony Im not a fan of the green metallic custom R9t I saw in my local Mottorad dealer last week , but that colour scheme of yours is just right. The R9t has all the hallmarks of a future classic and being a one off paint-job further cements that position.
Enjoy it Im more jealous than a jealous thing!

At the Bike Shed for breakfast with Tony... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...442c7b0c5f.jpg
Thanks :eagerness:
Thanks Steve, and I think you’re right.
Careful, Ian, people will talk x
Nothing - it’s a near-perfect bike. I’m more a modern classic sort of bloke, though.
Well I wouldn’t go quite that far!
I’m having fun tinkering and modifying it though. It looked like this when it arrived.

Had an interesting day yesterday - nipped over to the Bike Shed quite early in the day with Ian, and then we rode across town to the Ace Cafe. Heavy traffic but the 9T handled it well with lots of filtering and some rapid nipping in and out of, and around the endless lines of cars. I did feel it a bit by the time I got home, although some of that will just be the inevitable tension of a first central London ride on a new bike.
Another quick phone shot from the end of the day...

Going to take Bea for a ride later today :devilish:
Got up at stupid o'clock yesterday and took the Triumph out for 80 miles of glorious sunshine and the little roads of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

Mostly gentle pottering enjoying watching the world go by, except when I tried to keep up with this 1935 Bugatti type 13 being driven in a spirited manner.

(Found this picture of it online)
I suspect it was on its way to Prescott and was warming the tyres on the way...

Near Sway in the New Forest, staying on a mate’s farm. Some great roads round here!
Quick ride yesterday before everyone else turned up:

Tony Boxer twins carry their weight low down. As compared to your Speed Triple where the engine was quite high in the frame. Whilst the all up weight may be similar the R9t will need more effort for changes of direction and filtering. Also I think you are right, new bike, more aware of everything and probably more tense.
Think of the money you will save on going to the gym.
Enjoy
I think the bike takes more effort to ride, whether or not it’s the consequence of the flat twin design. That said, comparing it to a Street Triple is probably a tad unfair!
BSB live on Quest now.

Evotech Tail Tidy now fitted.
Toying with whether to go for a smaller number plate too. Would certainly look better, but don’t want the hassle of being stopped for being illegal.

Popped down the Brighton on mine today and stopped off at the local Mini garage to try and tempt myself to a JCW.

Agreed and I think I wasn’t making myself clear - I meant between the two bikes (R1250R and R9T) the layout has nothing to do with it as it’s the same. Interestingly though they handle differently with the newer bike being loads more agile.
I’d like both in my garage but if I had to pick one it would be the R9T, which is probably why I resisted the decent offer to chop it in for a R1250R in motorsport colours.
There is an R9t in my local dealers with a folding black and white rear plate. That must be illegal on a number of levels!

Loved my R9T but stupidly sold it 6 months ago. It's back on the market and oh so tempting! Just wish I had the room..
I had a couple of decent helmets already, but I've just treated myself to the Arai Freeway Classic open face... I LOVE it, especially when paired with the Ethen Cafe Racer goggles!
