I have a friend with a couple of Ebels, and they’re very nice watches...
I quite fancy one with the el Primero inside..

They'd be great if it wasn't for those screw heads around the dial! Do they have a function, or are they some designers weird idea of an engineering 'look'??
More than a little 90’s Tag going on too.
I always fancied the XXl with small seconds a very rare watch!
Rolex actually downgraded the bph to 28.800 in Daytona. But it goes in full 36.600 in these. Here's a video.

Hublots have them too. :D

I had an ebel chronograph a few years ago .I was lucky enough to get it in a 50%sale .It was very well made and finished and the equal of any other watch in its price range .They don't seem very popular in the UK and have steep depreciation best to buy pre-owned ,they are great value

Absolutely love my 137, well made and very good timekeeping, Excellent buy if got at good discount, the residuals are terrible.
The 1911's used to be opened through the front (which usually is a guarantee for damaged screwheads and expensive replacement thereof). The El Primero Ebel chrono (Don Johnsons watch in Miami Vice) is opened through the back. I own the EP chrono with the wave band. Great watch and it can be bought at very low prices.
I have a few and am a fan of the brand.
My only issue is with their leather strap system. It's totally bespoke with the strap being held in place with small screws. You can only use a genuine Ebel strap and the prices they charge for those are disproportionate to the street price of the watch itself with no other options available.
I bought a vintage Ladies' Sport Classic for my wife. She loves it. It's a quartz and yes it will be opened from the front.
My BTR case opens from the backside. And very nice backside by the way.

I would say the BTR quality surpasses any other watches I've owned except for Breguet. (BTR uses the same movement with Breguet XX by the way). Of course I'm not a watchsmith or anything but I've owned some NICE watches and you can just tell.
I can't say anything about the other Ebels but this is criminally underrated watch. I wrote about my BTR in my blog recently. Enjoy!

I remember my dad having a blue sportwave back in the day, I absolutely loved it as a teenager and always wanted it. He traded it in for his Breitling years later.
I've struggled to find it since and cannot remember if it had a blue dial or strap, or both, think it was in a dive watch style also (must have loved it that much haha)
