Just on the off chance -
I have a VERY sick 2008 (58 plate) R56 Mini Cooper factory JCW that has a cooked engine (N14C16A).
Definitely needs head gasket but also has an oil pressure problem (all related to the same, high speed incident) so I figure the engine needs a thorough going through but I have neither the time nor the skills.
Anyone here do this?

These engines are notoriously tricky.
Seek out a decent specialist. It’ll save you in the long term.
If it's the PSA Prince engine, before you spend money on it how is the timing chain?
I think it will be on that age / model.

Agreed, Lohen are R56 specialists and they are in Staffordshire, although they have a bit of a reputation for being on the pricey side. The N14 engines are reknowned for being problematic.

When i blew one of my M3 engines up i took it to prestige German engines in Peterborough cost a fortune, but done a pretty decent job
Timing chain was done 3k miles ago so no worries there.That's All FolksQuote:
