Loving this thread. I have a landmark birthday next year and it's galvanising my resolve for a GMT Master.
I think it's a pre-comex after acquiring mine and doing some research I believed mine to be this too. Like you I'm not sure what it adds (if anything) but they are gorgeous pieces.

Now then. On my wrist today, albeit for a short amount of time. Just amazing!

Or if you prefer a sub.
Just stunning. [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]
A stunning pair of watches. Crazy to think that in large parts of the country the sale of those two watches would buy you a decent house.

here's some more, the market is also calling them stern dials, after the company that produced them.

Newly acquired 16800 - Shame it's got a service bezel insert and strap's seen a bit too much polish, but came fully Rolex serviced from a reputable dealer so I'm a happy bunny!
5513 for me...

I've tried quite a few before during and since owning this 1990 5513. But it's remained with me for some years now and no sign of it leaving any time soon (unless an attractively priced 1665 shows up...).

5513 for me today
My Rolex collection has been depleted over the years to fund my motorsport addiction , but I've still got a '50s Oyster Royal that I bought for fifty quid and a few others up to this Sub that I bought on a whim for a little more at a point when I must have had delusions of solvency.......

It's a classic.
I do love these threads, I'm a big Rolex fan always have been. I have just one at the moment and it's the best of them IMHO. I'm also on the waiting list for a SS Daytona. I will be buying a milgause next year too if I can decide on color of dial.
