Repivoting the Auto Click on Heuer Cal.12
The auto click device on Heuer Calibre 12 allows the mainspring, through a train of gears, to be kept from unwinding as the rotor turns to wind it. This is independent of the click on the ratchet wheel which takes the full pressure of the mainspring strength.
The auto click pivots on the calibre 12 automatic winding system are too thin in my opinion and frequently break. They are only 0.09mm. I make the new pivots 0.14mm. Much better. Luckily the pivots go into brass settings rather than jewels so the holes can easily be broached open slightly larger.
A new click costs over £150.00 now from Switzerland, so it is cheaper to repivot the existing one. It is a very difficult piece to hold because of the attached click spring wire, but placing the item in warmed shellac resin eases the difficulty.

Where it fits. The micro rotor sits to the left.

I'm glad that's done !
Now the watch needs a complete service.
