I owned the 42mm 2201.50 for a few years before selling around 18 months ago in a consolidation move which I still kick myself for.
Prices on these, like many other watches, have climbed significantly so I can't see a reacquisition happening for me.
A very cool watch and a dam sight better looking than any other Planet Oceans that have followed since, I'd definitely hang onto it if I was you.

Looking back at these photos, I really wish that I'd kept it.
Most definitely. One of my favourite Omegas.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...477fa845a8.jpg

Big fan here (and a Bond fan)
Regret selling my Black / White combos. I had both 42mm and larger 45mm
Now trying to find minters at reasonable cost.
The ceramic versions dont appeal to me at all
The best POs by a country mile.
I've bought this new back in 2010 from Beaverbrooks for just over £1500 and if I remember correctly that was with a 20% discount.

My first 'proper' watch. Also the one I always go for when I can't decide what to wear.
Not sure if it counts though as it's the 8500. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0ede777323.jpg

The 2500 is still one of the favourite watches in my Omega collection, or perhaps my entire collection.
I owned the 45.5mm from its release. I traded that after around three years. I was then without one for a few years until I finally found a 42mm minter.
This one’s going nowhere.

8500 owner here too, thicker yes but it's mine so I prefer it to the 2500. First proper watch and very much loved.
Still kicking myself for not picking up the chrono version for 2K, which was on sale from an AD around 2009.

Great looking watches and build so well. I love the way the crystal is almost invisible. I've had a couple over the years - they really are all the watch you ever need, but where would be the fun in that?
Was moderately obsessed by finding a minty one of these about a year & a half ago. Soon realised that this was easier said than done. Controversially, I'm also partial to the 8900, but I agree the 2500 is the one.
The 2500 is a classic, though the 8500 is a close runner up. I had both and some variants for a while. Here is the 8500 in its element:

Yep, I love my orange bezelled 2500 bought here on the forum, (Kerry, you might recall my son collecting this from you?) and I’m always on the lookout for a mint 45mm black bezel/silver numerals too if anyone’s selling!!
It was one of the few modern Omega watches that I have not owned always been interested in. I would love to try the GMT white and black planet ocean, but at 43.5mm think it might be too large for my wrist. I have seen a titanium 42mm that is also on my list to try get one day.
They are fab!
Orange is the new green.

It wears better than you’d think. It’s the height that’s most noticeable but it doesn’t really bother me and wears comfortably on my 7.5” wrist. Personally I love the ‘Oreo’ and it’s generally my everyday wearer and usually what I take to work. It’s obviously one of the newer models so not sure if it’s welcome in this thread…..

Here's my 45.5. Mostly wear it "full bond" on the rubber.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...433cfc3ffd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...69f250931c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...eebaf38861.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8daf29dc11.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...89bfdb6d0b.jpg

I really wanted one when they came out, but a close friend, and brother-in-law both bought them before I had the chance, I didn’t really want one after that so bought a Speedmaster instead (which turned out to be a good choice).
Size options, bracelet and strap choices, two bezel colours made them quite groundbreaking at the time, and made Submariners feel a bit cheap, with their small size, pressed clasps and rattling bracelets. A definite classic.
Damn you, Kerry!
Mine has left my wrist for only handful of days in 2.5yrs of ownership. Since my watch following started over 15 yrs ago, this has been, by far, my most worn.

Was living in regret after I passed on a NOS piece from the omega boutique in 2016. Snagged this one(originally with an orange bezel, swapped it with an OEM black one) and has become my favourite diver.

Even at £3350 it's a lot of watch....

I've had three 2500 powered 42mm black and white POs, and I'd happily have another at the right price - when did they become so expensive?
There's something "right" about them.
IMO one of the most balanced and in-proportion watch designs in modern times. I had the 45mm with red details and loved it, I still don’t know why I sold it, I think at the time it wasn’t really appreciated and I always felt there was something ‘better’ I should own. Dumb move, as it has aged beautifully and looks classic rather than old.
My 8500 is a firm favourite and one I forsee getting rid of. 2500 is probably the better case thickness (crystal cashback doesn't help...wish they offered a steel one) but the ceramic bezel is better on 8500 IMHO.
The bracelet is on the heavy side...could do with being a tad lighter.

Oh yes. Had it from new, was my daily wearer for 3-4 years. Can't see me ever parting with it.

Come to the strange conclusion that I prefer the black 2500 series but if Orange the 8500 series.
I owned the first series ages ago, unfortunately it had to go, funny i was just thinking about it the other day. I watched "The watchmaker's apprentice" documentary on Amazon Prime about George Daniels and Roger Smith last week, knowing i'll never own either of their watches, the closest i'll ever get is owning a co-axial Omega (for those unaware, the co-axial escapement is Daniels' invention). Being an absolute vintage nut, i did a little research on which were the first Omegas (thus closest to being vintage) with a co-axial movement, and the PO came up. The very first were a limited run of DeVille's in 1999, shortly followed by the rest, with the PO's among them. Needless to say I was hitting my head in the wall knowing i have owned one of these once, but hey it had to go, it had to go. Even back then i thought the first series were the best looking of the bunch and i still do, although there's few more i quite like.
My old PO:

But bet they are rare as the proverbial (with a price to match)

I managed to find a nice 42mm PO 2500 last year and so glad I did. Such a great watch, perfect size, great styling with a nod to the past and an interesting movement.
As mentioned in this thread, these are getting harder to find now and I believe will become even more sought after. The modern POs are probably too chunky and blingy for a lot of people. Attachment 19084Attachment 19085
