Surely not! If so may be that they have restricted the UK allocation

Nah look at the CK2998 prices exact same. In fact this one comes with more stuff so i think it is priced correctly (in the current market). £4k for a manual wind chronograph that is limited looks good with a few extra straps is not too bad.

Blimey - people critique Tag for its strange limited editions but this one amounts to "that time people online talked about owning a Speedy".
I wonder how many enquiries watchfinder is going to have as soon as they are actually released...
"The Number Two speedy"
A new opportunity to buy the same watch again - limited to an unlimited production run - this new speedy represents the bond between man and watch during curling one off. It comes with special 'browned' lube (ed: Is this right? Shouldn't this be lume?).
Spotted this mid-morning and, after skim-reading the terms and conditions, reserved one with my son's DOB as the serial number. Since the numbers aren't sequential I am guessing they are randomly allocated unless the buyer has a preference. Seems a pretty small number for a fairly unusual edition - not so keen on the internet association, but like the dial and the case finish is different to the normal Speedy. So enough to make it different from many of the ever-so-slightly similar limited editions that have been issued before. It'll be interesting to see how sought after they actually are or if people are somewhat tentatively saying they'll buy one.
There doesn't seem a lot of commitment from Omega or the buyer to actually go through with a purchase unless when they call you have to pay a deposit before collecting - would rather see the watch for real before stumping up what is a fair amount for a Speedy Pro.

It seems there all reserved now !!!

Looks nice, even the lumed sub dials in my opinion. But the orientation of the numbers on said dials really turns me off.

Not too shabby...

When you start the process to reserve one it holds a number for you for 15 minutes. It may be that quite a few people have gone in and started but then not actually completed the reservation. Once the 15 minutes is up it becomes available again so is worth checking back.
You also have 24 hours to confirm via email so some follks may not bother/back out. I sense more will become available this week.
Managed to reserve one thanks OP
London boutique collection only ?
People on the West Coast are just waking up and realising what's just happened. I checked out a few comments on other forums, not happy bunnies.
Looks great but yet another SE - what's the point? Sooner or later the standard version will become a rare find if they keep going this way!
I reserved 1995 to be delivered to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Hope that increases my chances :la:
Where is the exchange where slots on the Reservation List are traded ?
I'm sure there is a UK limit to the allocation. There's no way they would release a limited edition watch that gets snapped up by one continent while another is asleep
Not at all sure about that strap. It looks distinctly aftermarket and I agree the LE rationale is stretched extremely thin. I don't mind the sub-dials but the lume seems a "because we can" feature and doesn't add anything for me. Glad to see that this has enthused so many people though - we all like something to look forward to!

On a separate point, is anyone else surprised by this being announced in the year that the Speedmaster turns 60? I was expecting some sort of anniversary Speedie this year.

was the price shown for all of you 4100 gbp including VAT?
Yep.
Anyone know when it will be released?
Steve
Less is more. As they seem to say at Omega. By the time Basel comes round you'll just get a magazine, a picture of the watch and a dial for £5k
Interesting post from Robert-Jan of Fratello which kind of explains the timing.

Shame I missed this earlier, as I would have ordered one - never mind.
The price mismatch between CHF and GBP is rather interesting. Wonder if they add UK VAT later on top of the 4100 (perhaps its only with 8% Swiss VAT at the moment)
This could well be my first Speedy and first non-Rolex watch. Thanks OP
Whats with all the bashing? I for one like limited editions. Yes I agree Omega may have gone abit over board with so many but the speed master is such a common watch, it doesn't harm to have a few different ones that feel more special. This one i think they pretty much ticked all the boxes. Even the packaging, i hate the current huge black box which is such a space occupier but you can't throw it away. Now we get a leather roll which is actually useful and compact for once. The panda reverse dial is superb and no-one said anything with the Snoopy lume but this one seems to hit a nerve for some people. Pricing, is consistent with the CK2998 which had even less things, and for me was not as interesting.
