Hoping to see some Carreras on this thread.

Presumably an undesired autocorrect crept in there, but now I really want to see a Citizen watch with a hybrid Hisonic/Historic movement which would surely be called the Histrionic.
Thanks!
I think you can maybe risk dipping your toe as they're less available than Cosmotrons. I have three Hisonics, but Cosmotrons on the other hand...
Top right is a Royal Elite, have you ever seen one of these? Photo added belowhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...233de91dca.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...56dab3bea6.jpg
Oh my word! I thought five was perhaps going a bit too far. What a collection.
I haven't come across a Royal Elite before although the symbols above ring a bell. I would be interested in the story behind them.
The symbols above are X8 which was what they called the early Cosmotrons. The very early ones weren't even called Cosmotron (the first was a Chrono Master). The bottom row in the box above are X8s.
Apologies for thread drift, back to 70s cool!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f7902c168e.jpg
Apologies, I meant the history of the Royal Elite. Although that explains why I have seen the X8 before.
I thought I saw a "rainbow" Cosmotron in your box. I've been looking for one of those for a long time. Only ever seen one come up and that was a shabby example.
In between posts here I keep dipping into Yahoo.jp where there is a lot of temptation.
I see wonderful things

Must get myself another one day…

Now that is lovely.
My contribution would be a less known or popular Breitling from the era:

I think the vast majority of my collection is 1970s vintage, a golden era for watch cool.
A few of the chunky favourites.

Not so cool now but was an 18th birthday gift from my parents. Wouldn’t wear it or get rid of it now. Not that anyone would want it.

That Certina is truly lovely (IMHO). I looked for a decent condition DS2 for ages but an affordable or good condition model was like rocking horse excrement. In the end I bought a Helson Mango Turtle, which was the closest I could get (but not quite the complete cigar)
If you ever need someone to keep your Certina worn and wound, you know who to call! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...032fca2caa.jpg

I have quite a few vintage pieces to mention a few, a couple of Rado Conway 10s from the 1970s, Tissot Seastar from 1965 and a Doxa from 1957...all great watches, still running and keep good time.
Rotary Monza GT.

6156-8040 from 1974. Apparently the last GS model Seiko introduced in it's 'classic' period before high end quartz completely took over.

What a wonderful thread, so many lovely watches. I've only two from the 70's, a 1680 from 77 and an Accutron from 73 (the cheap version of Ben's beauty at post 89).
