Matt, that is stunning - love the noise of these things when they are pushing on, best sound on any non hyper car today I think.

New company car delivered beginning of March, A3 40TFSie S-Line. It's a plug in hybrid so very low BIK and as I mostly get the train, that was the biggest consideration.
The tech is nice and it goes OK, the build quality isn't leagues ahead in my opinion, like some people may claim. I dump our 2010, 144k mile Prius at the station most days (owned from year old) and I very much doubt the Audi would stand up as well to similar levels of punishment that the old girl has been through.
The 30 (ish) miles EV mode is enough for my wife most days for dropping kids at school etc.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...52d39ea2a6.jpg

Thanks guys. It’s a 2018 C63s (so power increased to 510hp) with premium pack, switchable sports exhaust, AMG sports seats, satin black forged wheels, panoramic roof, 360 camera, Burmeister stereo and a few other bits. Exterior is polar white. The interior is black with white piping. It’s only got 10k miles on the clock and is the best condition car I have ever bought.
There a couple of things to change to make it perfect. This is no Apple CarPlay so I am swapping out the screen for the new style one next week. It also has the piano black centre console which I will swap for Ash, or may get it wrapped.
Really pleased with it overall, it’s lovely just cruising but biblical when in sports+, I haven’t dare try race yet!
Lovely car Matt. I have a GLC with the same piano black interior and hate it. Didn't know you could change the screen to get a newer software/Android Auto. Are you able to share roughly how much that change will be?
Thanks- The screen costs 550 and is diy plug and play. A friend did it and it’s great. Or this company can do it for you for 690:

Sounds pricey but you can take it out a sell it when the car goes.
Drove out into the Dales for the first time since I got the 997 back last week. My father-in-law and I have been doing Sunday drives into the Dales as a bit of a treat since the weather got better. It's become a highlight of the week.
My car is manual with sport chrono. In gear acceleration on overboost is so savage that it will break traction on all four wheels in 3rd in the dry. I love high revving NA cars such as the GT3, but all that turbo torque is way too addictive. Epic car.

The longest day this year is Monday 21st June, myself,my wife as co pilot and a fellow Jag owner and friend Single Storey Steve will depart Penzance at 21.36 pm, him in his X351 XJL 5.0 and i will be driving one of these,

My 2003 X350 Super V8( if i can get my brake upgrade sorted) or my V70 D5, less performance but no fuel stops.
The distance past Stonehenge is 430 miles Vs the M5/M4 route towards london at 452 miles and the deadline is 0430 Am at Ness Point Lowestoft. A road shootout Vs sustained cruise on the motorway.
We have a new arrival, chuffed to bits with it, the things immaculate and can swallow all our gear plus 3 children with ease [emoji106]
Drive it 150 miles home from London to Lincolnshire and with mixed driving conditions achieved 39.3mpg (calculated) the onboard computer wasn’t far off though as it said 39.8
Needless to say this replaced my trusty D2 ES TD5 and they are poles apart in terms of road manners, it’s like getting out of a tractor and into an armchair it’s that comfy!

The wing decal is :cool-new:!
I drive a BMW 320d Touring, bought new in 2007. Very boring compared to some of the cars here.
Unfortunately the ABS Pump (the DSC in BMW parlance) has packed in, and I have been quoted £2600 by the dealer to replace it; this is probably more than the car is worth. So I am in a dilemma as to whether to cough this up, or look around for a new car. We were hoping to not have to do this until a few years time, when we retire. My wife is not keen on the latest BMW models - the body shape is far too masculine, and what have they done to the front grill?
We're starting to think that we should just bite the bullet and get the 320 fixed - better the devil you know than one you don't. Neither us are into cars, and wouldn't have much of a clue when it comes to buying a new one. Our knowledge amounts to watching cars pass by and saying "I like that one", or "that looks horrible".
You can probably cut the cost by half at least by going to an independent. BMW will have to order through their network at full cost (and of course charge their labour prices), while an indy can source from anywhere (as in reduced NOS, etc.) and their labour will be much less.
Regarding the newer cars being too masculine, I completely agree. I really don't care for the current trend of a lot of "premium" brands making all their models look all snarly and aggressive. I think BMW and Audi are particularly bad at this and even their most normal cars look more aggressive then their M and RS models did 10 years ago. They must know their market though and that's what majority of the people want.

Ah, CardShark beat me to it!
I've been driving a Discovery 4 for the last while but decided I really don't need it, so test drove a Mini Cooper S this morning and had a blast. Will hopefully get it by the end of the week...
Cheers,
Adam.
I often wonder about this as I have very different experiences depending on the car I'm in. If I'm in our Smart people tend to be a lot more aggressive, don't want to let me in at junctions, etc., while if I'm in the 911 people generally either tend to give me space, or men in fast cars like to follow me, but rarely overtake even if I'm driving slowly. The best experience of all is in the classic 911 as majority of people smile, wave, let me in at junctions, etc. It's fantastic! Back when I had an Audi RS4 young blokes always wanted to race me...
Oh, women and children always tend to respond to the classics. Children a lot more to the 911 while women used to absolutely love my old Lotus Elan.
Where are you in the UK?

I remember loads of people on the BMW forum getting a local mechanic to take the unit off and have it refurbished by the above with no issues and a lot of money saved.

Bit rough around the edges but will be nice to smoke about in this for a little while:

A quick search brought this: https://www.pscautocentre.co.uk/page...mot-cheltenham
When I was confronted with a similar problem (= finding an independent for my BMW) I asked on this forum and was given addresses from my area (extended area, but still, great address)
Maybe someone reasonably local can vouch for the one I found, or name others...
Picked this up yesterday, love it so far.
3 door manual with performance pack.

Agree with the Smart, when I’m in it drivers tend to assume I don’t like cars / can’t drive and are aggressive.
Amusingly when I used to commute back from the station once the straight roads became twisty, they weren’t keeping up. We love the 0.9t 453, so much more fun than we expected.
Would get the EQ if the range was higher, wife commute is 95% of range, so anxiety is too great there!

We are picking this up next week. Quite excited about a first go at EV motoring. We do a lot of short (less than 5 mile) journeys now and I hate doing that to an engine. I am hoping that this and the C63s will meet all our needs.

I love our Smart. We live in a small town, so for local duties it's incredible. Ours is the lowly 70bhp mk2, but I can't say I ever really feel it should have more power.
Other men are really strange/funny about it. When we got it, it just made perfect sense as a perfect runabout, but a lot of men, especially at my gym, seem to have an existential crisis considering how it would impact their egos to drive one.
Just chopped in the 430d for this. I know she’s not as exotic as a lot of the cars on here but she’s a darn sight more fun than the derv!

That is a beautiful front end, love it!
I’ve been looking at that Giulia (and the other similar spec Giulia’s that dealer has) online this week! I’d love to know how you get on with it; I’m seriously thinking of swapping my MK7.5 Golf GTi for one.
I sat in a couple yesterday which helped me decide that if I do change, it has to be a Veloce, but I’m undecided if I should wait and aim for a MY20 facelift model for the improved interior.
Whilst there are deffo some quality gaps between this and the 430 (15 plate) - the infotainment controller and some scratch plastics down at foot level- it’s a country mile above what I was expecting.
This ones a q2 with the lsd, variable dampers etc and leather dash, which isn’t standard. Maybe that’s lifted it a notch.
Certainly not rattly or poorly screwed together.
Can’t see it being a patch on the more recent Germans.
However, it does make me smile more than the beemer ever did!

I think these are good value at the moment - I was after a good E92 M3 but after driving the F82, on balance I preferred the M4
it's a pre LCI model but has low miles, FBMWSH and the factory extras that I wanted
but to tell you the truth, I still appreciate my E92 35D for certain journeys

needs a clean, but it's a colour, Silverstone Blue ll, that hides the dirt well
very similar colour to the Bluewater E92
