If Villa weren't in the drivimg seat for the top 4, I'd be worried about Watkins going to Arsenal. He wants, and deserves Champions League football. Same with Douglas Luiz.

Saudi FA to review fan code of conduct after supporter appears to whip player - BBC Sport
The BBC tried to interview the supported involved in the incident but apparently he's never been seen since....apparently.
There's been a lot of talk about us "having" to sell one of our top players namely Joelinton, Isak or Bruno. The reality is we don't. We can keep all three and build at a slightly slower pace than if we sold one of them. Personally I'd rather not sell any of them as they, and Gordon, are the players we should be building our future around.
Barnes back to being rubbish again ?

Come on Everton, we have our inverted defenders, false number 9, ready for the press, down the channels, in the pockets, asking questions of their defence and our XG and XG against are to be proud of.
Quite who comes up with all this shit I’m not sure, just grateful that the biggest cheat in PL history isn’t playing tonight.
Just play well even you get beat again…
Jesus H Christ.
Have to admit, Cole Palmer is one hell of a player. Just shows how good City are if they can offload players like him.
A one man demolition in less than 30 mins. This could be 6 or 7 by the end of the game.
Stoke on a wet Wednesday night is starting to look attractive.
Andre Gomez has looked better in nine minutes than any other Everton player in the previous 45. Always been a class act.
Luton and Forest will fancy their chances against Everton and the Merseyside Derby and away to Arsenal have already been written off.
Not looking good.
Palmer only scores pens!

Forest and Luton are so much better than Everton. It amazes me how Everton aren’t in the bottom three.
We have so much young English talent such as Jude, Gordon, Palmer, Guehi, Bowen etc yet I get the sinking feeling that at the Euros we’ll get Maguire, Henderson and Rashford.
After that display I cannot see us getting no more than 4 points max. Utterly disgraceful performance. Sack the lot and put the kids on
I don’t understand why the fans are happy with this. The team are crap, the manager is crap with previous for taking Burnley down and people moan about the board and the ownership.
Who else would let a manager go nearly 4 months without a win and not raise eyebrows.
Beyond a joke.

I always thought Ancelloti was funny, did sod all with Everton and looked ordinary and then won the CL in the same season with RM.
At least Moyes kept us in the top 10, but with no honours.
A new manager, anyone, wouldn’t rely on Burnley rejects who went down with Dyche.
Ok fair enough, so I got that wrong. There isn’t much change or improvement across the whole period though. Even Carlo couldn’t get anything done. I think he won the Champions League either later that season or the following one.
My point is that the problems appear to be at a higher level than the manager.
Bowen is older than Rashford…

Amazing. Cole Palmer surely PFA player of the year now.
Perfect hat trick plus...left foot, header, right foot, the penno.....
Incredible and he's only 21!

The whole fabric at Everton is just rotten to the core.
England should be winning the Euro's, they have so many strong players, Southgate is the weak link tho and like you said will play old terrible players.
Kane up top, Saka, Palmer and Foden supporting, Bellingham and Rice CM, Cant be that many national teams with such a strong midfield and attack, and apart from Kane are all young enough to lead England for the next 6-8 years.
Too true, loads of top players
Trouble is the balance.
Palmer, Foden, Saka are all mostly playing as right wingers. Bellingham is playing as a 10.
So if you want them all on the pitch together then half of them will be out of position. Not the end of the world but England have previous for this and it's tended not to work.
Also let's not forgot last month's latest and greatest, Manioo.
Doesn't get the headlines as much because hes at Newcastle, but Gordon is probably the form left sided attacker, and adds much better balance.
And to be fair, who are the old terrible players? Maguire, Pickford? Not sure there are too many alternatives for those guys.

When Mings played in 2022 for England I'm not sure we lost any matches, when Maguire came back in we did (see Hungary, where he was a disaster). Shame then that Mings is recovering still and by the end of this season will have played 20 minutes or so of competitive football. I have a feeling had he not been injured in the first match he'd be England's first-choice left-sided CB.
I think youre thinking of the Euros in 21, as he didn't play in 2022. (Other than one friendly)
Great player when fit and playing, like most of them to be fair.
Same age as Maguire.
In GS shoes picking between them for the summer....it's marginal isn't it and which ever one plays, if they make an error GS will get it big time!
Jarrad Branthwaite and Levi Colwill are the youngsters coming through, but Palmer nutmegged Branthwaite and scored last night, so might not be international quality just yet!

Think Maguire gets a rough ride.
He’s a solid centre half and does the basics very well.
Over the last 5 years has there actually been my better English centre backs ? Maybe.

No one stands out if you ignore Stones as he plays anyway, and have Walker as a dedicated RB.
After that it's very subjective, and hostage to fortune with form, fitness, injuries etc

have to say that i tend to agree as all of the other potential CB's are either really inexperienced, injured or in the case of Dunk, make a massive feck up when they do get a chance.
until 2 years ago Stones was also prone to massive brain farts and trying to nutmeg people in his own area.
Barring injury it'll be Maguire and Stones at CB for the Euros. International managers get so little time with the players they need to know that the players know what they want and familiarity is probably more important than absolute form. Stone and Maguire have played 16 of the last 19 tournament games together and conceded less than a goal a game (albeit as 2 of a back three several times). No one else has yet made any sort of case to replace them. If he was going to replace Maguire then the time to do it was the last few international friendlies.
I'm not a great fan of Maguire and wouldn't want him at my club but I can see the logic behind Southgate starting him.
