Bling, bling. Shame really.
Can't say I'm a massive fan of yellow gold but I do think the red bezel works well with it.
I like the hue of the gold here. Doesn't look like it is an LE though I may be mistaken.

I hate to be a killjoy and know lots of other people will disagree but for me the only Speedy Pros worthy having are pre-moon. Much like Morgans, anything after that is just a replica of itself.

It was so much cheaper to buy a three-hander wristwatch AND a separate stop-watch timer that the market for chronographs did not exist. Don't get the choice of movement...why not the "new" 321? The mix of co-axial and Cam switching seems at odds technology wise.

That is Omega retro-fitting Co-axial escapement into the normal moonwatch movement, the 1861, hence 3861.
Interesting piece of technology grafting.

This can’t be the only Apollo 11 50th Anniversary issue, this should be the first limited edition they do after the main one as it replicates the watch created four months after the event
I was thinking the same, and previously predicted at least three special editions. No way would Omega miss the opportunity to shift a vast number of ‘limited’ editions for this particular anniversary, and they wouldn’t choose something so polarising unless they had something else up their sleeves. Then again, the need for a historical reference might tie their hands a bit.Quote:

From memory, of the original 1014, numbers 1 & 2 were offered to the President and Vice-President of the USA and were declined! And of the remaining 1012, some EDIT: 39 (I can't remember how many) were numbered and engraved with the astronauts name.
Sure as hell wish I had scraped together £8K back in 1998!

I think the red bezel and black markers works, but I thought that when I saw pics of the original. One of the classiest things Omega have done for a long time.
Its even has a DON , must be worth it for that alone
