Looks legit.....

I'm sure Haywood will be along shortly to pass judgement. To me the hands look like they have been tampered with and not sure about the 5517 engraved into the lug, but of course that could be a marker for those who know their Milsubs.
I think any Milsub offered for sale is always treated with suspicion.
Is this not the same chap who has had a few dodgy pieces and been called out on here a Tudor Monte Carlo springs to mind??
I'm pretty sure he was based in Bungay as is this seller
https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...ghlight=Bungay
Here's the thread
This is Bob’s number, 07799778746 I will be sending him a quick text message to say that many people are aware of his dodgy dealings and I have reported the item to eBay.
Great photos Bob. 100% legit I’m sure.
If it was real and the owner truly believed it was real, then offering it on eBay is not really the best sales platform for a watch that could go into six plus figures.
How he still has 100% feedback and hasn't met the wrong person in his dodgy dealings is beyond me..
The pictures are awful
But the minute hand looks to be the wrong shape
The dial is not right nor is the bezel insert
The engraving on the case back does not look correct either,
I have now reported it.
If this is the same guy, can criminal action not be taken against him for repeated deceptions used to try and obtain money from unsuspecting buyers (some people on here should pay attention). I’m sure there must be some laws to protect against those who plan and then try to carry out these frauds.
"Firstly I have taken this Rolex to a main dealer and has checked it out all ok"
Of course you have Bob - would have thought he'd learnt his lesson after the last time he was called out on TZ.
Didn't he even make a guest appearance on the forum to defend his name!
Just sent this to him on eBay:
Bob, you antics of selling dodgy watches and trying to rip people off are well known across many watch forums, if you honestly thought this was a real Milsub you wouldn’t be selling it on eBay and certainly not for £25K, the hands are wrong, bezel is wrong, the case back is wrong etc etc. Many people have already reported this to eBay and it’s being discussed on a number of forums.
I have spoken with Mr. Long.
It was deeply unpleasant.
He says that the watch will be removed from sale.
I've just received this strange text message sent to one of our land-lines, which BT have converted into artificial speech. I'm sure the mobile number quoted at the start is familiar. Bear with the slow start, as it's only 53 seconds LONG.

Beware "scowersers."
Astonishing. Could be worthy of a Humbert & Ellis medal !
Beware "scowersers."
Fabulous!

Out and out, repeat offending con man from my limited readings online, and as such looks like he deserves to be locked away to protect any innocent parties - only I wouldn’t want any state money being paid to feed and support someone like that.
I just received this absolute ‘little gem’

He is NOT a pawnbroker any more and I do not accept his definition of the trade, albeit that it may indeed apply to him.
Are we talking of bob long or Bungay Norfolk the guy who sells the dodgy Rolex and Tudor watches ?
You guys aren't suggesting there's a

here, are you ?
What a comic, back to the watch, although images were poor was it a complete fake, major franken or minor franken of a 5517/13?
The watch shown at least bore significant parts and features that were not correct for a military issue Rolex.
That "5517" on the underside of a lug was one problem and these images (from my genuine examples) illustrate inter alia how far the hour hand should extend towards the quarter indices :

I know he’s sold fakes and told pork pies before but I’ve got no reason to not believe him this time. After all his Rolex main dealer has checked it out and given it the ok.
^^ maybe sarcasm? :eagerness:
'Still for sale', according to littlegems121.
I replied to him with the following, will see what he responds with!!
New message to: littlegems121
Bob,
Don’t try and bullshit, we all know what you are, if you wanted reminding there’s the small issue of the court case involving the totally fake Monte Carlo and then trying to flog the very same watch on to another unsuspecting buyer
I've asked for opinions on the authenticity of the Gibson guitar on a forum I frequent.
Having been in a Trabant once I feel quite sure than any non standard parts will be an improvement.
To be clear, are you saying that Robert Long is still offering for sale the watch which looked a bit like a military issue Rolex Submariner that was on eBay until some of the incorrect elements were pointed out to him?
If so, vital questions would be :
How is he describing it?
How much is he asking?
What a charmless nerk! I see neither his manners nor his personality have improved since he was last a subject of discussion on the forum.
Just in case his eBay listing is ever completely removed, here is his "Milsub."
