    List got a makeover

    5711r
    5146 maybe (any thoughts?)
    Lange 1

PS I do like the mil-spec and could buy a pre owned (2013) 5167a right now with a tiny premium.

Im getting way ahead of myself here (however fun to speculate on a boring day at work)

If my 5711 comes thru the next 3-4 months as planned im considering the following:

Sell white dial Daytona 116520 / Omega SPECTRE Seamaster / Sub 114060 to assist funding the 5164 Travel Time

    or

Sell Omega SPECTRE & Sub 114060 for a 5167A and keep Daytona

I thought I preferred the simple dial of the 5167A, however last year in Duggans window they had both and the 5164 really stood out. Ive also never had a GMT watch and the 5167 is simple three hander so maybe too similar alongside a 5711 in a tiny collection.

I consolidated 3 Rolex to put aside the funds for the 5711 and can't say I miss them. Over the last few years ive gone from 8 watches to 6 and recently to 3 (4 including the 5711 if it comes off)

Retail is 13,750 I believe, hence a 4 year old one for more (and possibly needing a service soon which is not cheap) is not so attractive

But in this case a few calls and some luck will usually get one brand new at RRP so no point buying a 4 year old one. Great watch however.

Happens with a surprising amount of time with "hard to find" pieces.

Also really helps if you're buying jewellery/another piece to get the safe open for the good stuff (watch wise...)

    General question to everyone:

5711r vs. 5167r which one would you take?

Definitely the 5711R - the Brown rubber really put me off the 5167R, and I much prefer it in plan old steel in rubber - it would make a nice watch on a gold Aquanaut bracelet though
It's just a matter of time...

yeah, but new it's £27,100....but yes you can buy used for £11k/£12k from the EU or so...but for that sort of price you need to be buying an AP 15400 IMO.

No necessarily you're getting a chronograph for the same money as an AP 3 handed. For me the VC OS chronograph presents better value for money not to mention the 150m wr as well.

cool, each to their own then mate.

Do you have a VC OS Chrono just out of interest? Don't get me wrong I think it's a brilliant piece....

I might be wrong but I think we have a timewaster here - the photo George posted of his JLC Master Chrono was from a Hodinkee article https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/ja...ls-introducing- we have still not seen a real photo of the JLC that George supposedly bought in May and arrived in June.
Despite George being on a zillion waiting lists for lots of desirable PP models for many months he has still not managed to buy one and has chopped and changed so much that it is difficult to keep track of George's latest whim.

George, don't pay a premium for the 5167a, call Wayne and buy the one at the ad for list. Spend some money, show us some pics, or go away.
