Anything he likes from timefactors.com which is water resistant.
Quartz is much harder to break, so a precista prs-18 would be a good choice.
My friend's birthday is coming up, and he would like a watch. He want a watch, which is water resistant, and doesn't break to easy. I don't want it to be a 1.000$ watch, but just a good, strong and nice watch.

Anything from Seiko. SKX007 is a sure bet.

Timefactors offer good and strong watches which represent first class value for money. I would recommend there as a starting place and basis for comparison.
Should you prefer to buy a high street brand, Seiko offers a comprehensive range and are well regarded here for reliability, durability and value for money.
You really need to decide if a quartz watch or mechanical watch is best suited to your freind's needs.

Has to be a G-Shock .
You don't want it to be a $1000 watch... Ok, what do you want it to be? $50 or $500?
Pretty vague post TBH :)
Well, she has laid out three requirements - "good", "strong", and "nice".
So, obviously watches that are good and strong, but not nice, are out. As are watches that are nice and strong, but not good. And there are watches that are nice and good, but not strong. But they won't do. Nor will watches that are just good, or just strong, or just nice.
Clearly there is only one watch that will work. Why can't you all just tell her what that one watch is? You're all just cruel teases.
If he can live with Royal Marine logo...
(I don't even notice it on my example)

CWC?
I guess 'good' and 'strong' are reasonably definable ('good' = reputable make, good timekeeper, 'strong' = can do work around the house without it getting badly marked or stopping), but 'nice' needs some definition.
Is 'nice', desirable, sporty, dressy, digital, brightly colour plastic (a G-Shock in this case :D ), bracelet, strap, chunk of rubber?
Too many imponderables in 'nice' to give much guidance, but for sub $200, how about a Seiko or Citizen 'solar powered' diver?

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
I'll second the Seiko SKX007 suggestion.
But with a $1,000 why not a pre-owned '90s Omega Seamaster quartz?
Swatch end of thread.....
Orient mako or Pulsar military. Both cheap but decent quality and VFM.
After my recent arrival, there is only one watch under a grand I would ever consider again, a Helson Sharkdiver. Talk about built to last, this thing will withstand the apocalypse.
