Eddie, when is says plated in same colour, is it actually plated with the same metal so it ages at the same rate, or is the crown plated in something else that colour matches the wtach as supplied?

    Cheers

It's not plated now, it's a solid bronze crown.

That had to be the best looking watch I have seen for a long time.

Great news, though the arrival of the Speedbird GMT will make it hard to decide or very hard on my bank balance!

Mind if I ask how that will be done?

I was under the impression it is slightly too soft for screwdon crown manufacture (which would explain the usual use of a stainless crown on other watches).

Will it be screwdown? I notice the caseback is 100m WR, so screwdown is not necessary I suppose.

It isn't a screw down crown.

    Eddie,

    I've not had chance to trawl through the entire thread, but will the watch in the original post be made (stainless steel)? I far prefer it to the bronze one;

But then it wouldn't be "The Bronze Watch", would it? ;-)

Not sure this is quite the place ref. cost of ordering 300 watches, dangers of pre-pay (a la MKII) and customer support; however, some of the crowdsourcing approaches currently available provide an opportunity to gather project specific investment in a way that couches the investment as structured support to enable a particular project, with the potential to participate in purchase of product later (if necessary).

As ever, it takes effort to create the pitch, but does provide reasonably ready access to seed capital.

My business is working on this as an approach, and I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has!

But the crown is still confusing me, looking at the AutoCad design drawing, the crown looks nice, but the real picture of the "prototype" that comes up when you google PRS30 has the large golden onion crown. Which one will it be?

I've read this up but ultimately, money isn't free and using this approach would increase the price.

Eddie, the crowns look very very nice, my fears were unfunded or mislead by the "prototype" picture

When can I order this beauty?

I'm still waiting for the straps and bronze buckles but I think they will be not more than 2 weeks. Got to take some pictures for the booklet then.

Hoping I am quick enough and have the funds spare. Might have to be a cheaper holiday but doubt the wife and kids would agree

Did you receive all 300, or was the final build a lower number?

I have 150 now and have to take the remaining 150 within 6 months. It promises to be a busy time because the Dreadnought GMT and Smiths diver should arrive in 2 - 3 weeks.

Frustratingly I think I'm going to be skint as these appear. Hopefully I'll get a look at the second batch later in the year. Will be nice to see that one out and on sale.

Will the Smiths diver also be a small batch at first? I wouldn't be surprised if that sells out almost as fast as the Dreadnought GMT.

Don't be. The pictures, coupled with a couple of glasses of vino tinto made me feel all warm and fuzzy for a moment. Normal service has resumed. Until I see a full frontal. At which point, full regression to thumb sucking and baby talk may well occur.

Notice too the second hand with lovely lumed end but no diamond or circular balance. It does look like some post design, in-production tweaks have been made. Looking forward to a full frontal.

A quick pocket camera picture of one of the hand-made straps which will be supplied with the PRS-30 (the other one is black). Although quite thick, it's super-soft.

for an old timer... can someone quickly post the dimensions and the projected asking price (if known) for this beauty, and if it's general admission when they go on sale vs some sort of pre order list? There's like, 11 pages of posts on this thread.

I can't remember the last time Eddie did a pre-order list, and I don't think he's given a price estimate yet. I imagine it will fit within Timefactor's price range, plus a bit( :) )
