Yes, I know about the DSSD, but that's just too much money. A cheaper 'big' Rolex would be perfect

That's me out then. For some reason I thought the SD was more around the 7k mark?

So that black and white picture of what looked like a steel version on the BB bronze was not actually happening- odd

Maybe I am more in touch with my feminine side than I thought ! At 38mm though it is exactly the same size as the IWC mk XV that I am wearing today !

    Will pass.
The size is good for me as my wrist is relatively big and I'm used to wearing the ap15400 so usually find PP look quite small on me.
I wont be buying this year though so will see if they become available at discount like other pm models.

The non-LE Railmaster. I don't much like it, but the font used for those numerals really makes it look like a watch from yesteryear. Assuming that's what was intended, good job Omega!

I'm liking the look of the 5960 with the black dial:

    http://www.patek.com/en/mens-watches...ns/5960-1A-010

It's £37,040. I'm going on the list for that.

The white gold 5960 on a leather strap is £47,740.

The white gold aquanaut is £27,990.

Nicest release for me so far:

Hard to justify an extra £1k for the new one. Is red paint that expensive? Steel certainly isn't.

Another thought on the non-LE Railmaster. The 'Railmaster' name appears to be in same colour as the (aged!) lume. In this case I think it helps tie the lume into the overall design of the watch, and works pretty well.

  16. #366
Yes, that's it. Was just a white dial before.

Early days and nothing that excites although liking the new Tudor BB. The SD isn't the same anymore but at least they sorted the SEL

Edit: The 62 MAS looks very nice I must say.

Don't see the point of a 41 BB with no bezel, would've been much better as a 39 IMO, a missed opportunity. Would offer more marketing distance between the full fat dive bezel and 36 models.

Red Seadweller, again pointless. Just a Sub / DSSD hybrid with Cyclops and size, don't get it.

Of all the Basel introductions so far, the 60yr Speedy works best for me, the SM300 LE is just too close to the current SM300 and the Railmaster has been underdone.

EDIT - Just seen the non-LE Railmaster......oooh, quite like it I think, apart from the bloody cross-hairs on the dial, why FFS ??? The tiniest detail can really de-rail (ahem !) a good looking watch.

Don't think so. When you got that amount of water inside better run to your AD. It's working like Sinns capsule indicator, for air humidity inside. Over time this can get more and more, so you know when it's time for a Service.

whats going on at Tudor? I really do not like the rivet bracelet... and in two tone?!

The crown doesn't even seem to match the two tone!

Same here. The standard watches are just too small for me (I'm huge, I'm not criticising them) but 43 will probably be perfect. Plus cyclops helps me see the date without glasses. Just practically speaking I'm v likely to buy this one.

It is probably a good thing for you that it is larger and at the moment unpopular. If it was a hit we could of had another Daytona on our hands. With how it is sounding, anyone who wants one will get one.

Soooooo...... Fraser Hart in Kingston just refused to put me on their waiting list. Only clients of theirs for "15-20 years" are getting one they claim and they have "50 or 60" of those already waiting. Didn't even ask my name or check anything about me. Plus, I'd definitely keep the watch at that size so they could take every sticker, the papers and the box for all I care. Wasn't given the chance to say so, and the manager couldn't wait to get me off the phone.

They are my local, but my least favourite dealer. I've spent all my money at their rivals, admittedly, because they are always like this and I've bought Omega/Breitling/Panerai previously and they are available over the road at Ernest Jones and I've also used Chronext. In fact I almost feel like it may appear I have a "problem" with FHK but they make it impossible for any reasonable person to feel differently. They are the Rolex dealer local to me so ideally would have bought there. But now will elsewhere.

Feeling very deflated. Does it really have to be like this? Shouldn't watch dealers and watch lovers with a genuine intent to buy be friends? Am I really such a bothersome ant to dare to ask a Rolex dealer if I can please buy a Rolex?

Anyway, if they are to be taken at their word, it doesn't sound so unpopular at the moment. Interesting, because I agree with you and thought I might be in a minority and so able to get one fairly quickly/easily.

The new Black Bay steel looks nice, Explorer IIish.

Slight feeling of anticlimax on the Omega reissues, you can't blame them for being historically accurate I suppose and the sizes are great, but I'm not drooling... I was expecting the Railmaster to be a knockout. Liking the light blue speedy 38. Aqua Terra variations are a bit meh. Great that they are finding those sweet spot sizes though.

It's a strange year at Rolex when the Skydweller is the winner. At least owners of pre-cyclops SDs can smile. Even a new OP39 dial colour might have cheered things up over there.

Wallet still firmly in pocket so far... What happened to the Grand Seiko branding rumour? Have they not shown yet?

That gold tone black bay is a travesty, especially with the gold crown, are they churning these variants out at random?!

Don't like the Tudors this year. Looks like a step backward. The Black Bay Bronze with green or blue dial and bezel would've been nice.

Apologies, of course. Maybe I should actually change my statement to 'the watch industry'!

I think the problem is no one is coming with anything new... its all just variations of successful designs, that are successful because they worked as they were!
