New arrivals! - Much overdue post

Very much overdue now, but I'd like to share with you guys two of my recent acquisitions. Some of you may perhaps remember me from my short stint in London which ended earlier this year. Have now since relocated back to Singapore, so if any of you are ever in this neck of the woods, do drop me an email or PM. I'd love to show you guys around some of the WIS sights here! :)

Anyway, I had to let go Ben's superb tritium SeaDweller earlier this year to fund this beauty...

Then ended up missing the SD so much I got this...

Been a good year for watch collecting so far! :D :D :D

    Cheers!
    Shaun

That Speedy is truly beautiful. The elegance of the original, with the convenience of auto/day-date.

Really do love the SD. I'm a big fan of the thicker case and higher profile. The last one I had (Ben's) had a really nicely patina-ed tritium dial. Here's a quick pic:

You can read more of my thoughts on the Rolex SD in a review I wrote some time back pitting it against the Omega PO here:

    http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=66811

The 1680 submariner is in another league though. Love the matt dial, acrylic 'top hat' crystal and silver date wheel. :D

    Nice pic Mark! :)

I'm considering getting an english date wheel installed at some point also. Are they easy to source?

The speedmaster ref 376.0822 has been known by a number of names, most notably the "grail", coined by the late Chuck Maddox. You can read more about this particular Lemania 5100 / Omega c.1045 based watche on Chuck's excellent site here:

    Cheers! :)

    Don't mention it Peter! :)

Oddly enough, 2 years on, both of those watches in that review have now gone on to better homes. i suppose once you go vintage, there's no turning back! :D
